Flats, preferably. I'm way too clumsy. I can't handle a heel taller than an inch or so.

I have terrible feet and don't walk well in heels, so in my real life, I rarely would wear anything above an inch and a half (usually for conferences).

I've been strongly considering getting some 3.25 inch heels to wear for kink events, though. I'm of average height, so I think it could be fun to play with my height a little to feel more powerful.

Maybe an inch or two. I'm a little used to walking around in them because of show choir, but I don't like to wear them.

Wife likes heels...doesn't mind 4" or higher...but no spike, it has to have that flat heel.

I don't think that there's such a thing as a general "too much." For me, it depends on what a person can handle. If someone is wearing two inch heels and tottering all over the place or walking like a penguin, then two inches is too much. If someone can comfortable strut about in six-inch stilettos with the grace of a princess, then the height probably works for them.

In an actual heel, 3-4 inches is my max. For platforms and wedges, I'll go higher, since I feel more stable, but really it's all in the shoe's design.
