I think that kids can help out with age appropriate chores as soon as they can. My little cousin (who is 2) likes to help clean up his toys, although he doesn't do that much, he loves to help out. I think it's good to start teaching responsibility at a young age, but there is no need to push them to do things that are too difficult.
What age should kids have chores?

I had small chores like feeding the animals or cleaning my room when I was very young and I think that if you give a child a job they are sole responsible for they will get used to doing them : ) Haaha free labor

I think a definite chore list should be set by 5 or 6. Even if this includes hygiene things, like brushing their teeth, or even cleaning up their own spaces after doing these things.Even as young as 16-18 months can help with cleaning up their toys and such though. They may not actually HELP, lol, but they will get the idea that they need to help with the house from a young age. I don't have any kids myself, but I have TONS of kids that come over to my house. Nephew, sibling, cousins, other family & friends. All the kids know to help me clean up their toys before they leave, no matter what. They also know they can string out as many toys as they want too, as long as they're picked up. So it kinda balances out
