Read the books before the movies came out years ago. Loved the books, the movies were great adaptations and I felt for the length of the stories they did a good job not cutting out too much. I'm still sad about them having to cut out the Tom Bombadill scene in Fellowship though. That was my favorite part of the whole book! I can't wait for the hobbit
