I kind of hate that fact.

It's 2012, our cunt's, our pussy's, our love canals are much more than a shelter for a mans junk.

I hate that is is still the only socially acceptable work for what we have down below.

That, along with several other words, always made it interesting in Latin class

I kind of hate that fact, too. Interesting, however! Thanks for sharing.

And now that I'm looking these things up... Apparently "vulva" comes from the Latin "volva," which referred to the womb, and that word was derived from, essentially, "wrapping," or a thing that curves around another thing to form a hollow. Fair definition of the womb, I'd say, but fascinating that "vulva" shifted from the womb to... well, the vulva.

Yes, I did. I still remember a post that was said "Did you know all ancient solider had vaginas?" Do emphasize the point.

Yes. My philosophy teacher once made an half and hour long class about the etymology of the vagina (it was related to the topic, we swear...).

That was interesting, the more you know I guess. Makes complete sense from a metaphorical stand point though.

Indeed it makes sense.

But should it?
Does it make sense because of the society we live in?

If the world was composed of solely females, and we were self reproductive, meaning no penis required, I highly doubt we would call our cunts/love canals/whatever title have you, a sheath for a sword.

These days, in he age of in vitro fertilization and artificial insemination a woman could live her life with her parts never being a vagina.
Why is it the most common and only socially acceptable word for our parts?

Elnoa, I'm telling you, read "Cunt" it is a bit far from my usual comfort zone, but it is mind boggling and an important book for women.

I'm no "femme nazi" but seriously, this cuntlovin' woman has some amazing points about why women are how we are and where it came from.

And clever thoughts to fix it.

Even though I'm not planning on using mine as such, I'd be way more down if the original meaning were more about "birth canal." Because, I mean, it's connected to a womb and stuff. None of this "your parts are for someone else to fuck" implications.
