Plus knowing that you, even in death, are contributing positively to the Earth and the people in it rather than taking up space in the ground with non-biodegradable materials like clothing, shoes, coffins, etc. and rotting away in space that could be used for something else is pretty inspiring. Plus it's safer! A big issue in antiquity (and still in some undeveloped countries) is the buried poisoning the well water in the ground. Ew!
I really, really like this idea. Why hadn't someone thought of this before???

I second all of your comments here.
My grandmother was cremated and the family could barely afford the cost. My aunt has her ashes in a big bag. That's what they gave her when she couldn't afford an urn. It's horrible, especially considering that the place my friend gets her dogs cremated at gives the ashes back to her in a nice, sealed, decoratively carved, stained, and finished wooden box. This is only $60 cremation and all. Why they couldn't offer something like that for grandmother makes me sick. I will be looking into these as gifts for my whole family. There are enough ashes to go around and they could all have a tree in their yard in memorial.
