I used to have a bit nail polish addiction. Between working in a pet store, my son, and college I don't seem to have the time to do my nails these days. I still have a ton, and most still worked fine when I went through them this summer. I just tried the crackle coat this summer, great dark purple color, looks gorgeous over lilac and seagreen.
Base color is a random green that I really ended up liking a lot from some random set, glitter is Pure Ice. Finally bought and tried the Seche Vite top coat, and I am in love with it.

That sounds awful. Hope you feel better soon. The Shellac is something most of the nail salons here are offering, but CND is the company that makes it. Each step has to be cured under the UV light, but it is really nice!
Oh, you have to have somebody do it? Cash flow is low. I wonder if anyone in our area is doing it at all. I haven't heard about it. Maybe because I haven't been in a nail salon in a while.
I like painting my nails simply because it keeps me from biting them, so they get a chance to grow out a bit instead of staying super-short all the time.
Greens, blues and purples are my thing. For some reason, I don't like warm colors, even for my nail polish.

Oh same here. I was able to keep my nails pretty long for about two weeks before it was back to short nails again.
Somewhat festive nails. The base coat is this really awesome gun metal that has either a blue or green undertone depending on the lighting, with a Sinful Colors dark red for the tip.
Might be hard to see the color, it's this green/goldy color by zoya. I usually only paint my tips because my nails grow so fast and are so long in shape they look fake with a full coat on them, and I dont

Ooh, is that Edyta by Zoya? I gifted my bestie that for Christmas.
I'm a polish addict, but my latest craze is the Zoya nail polish. I have a few by Julep (and they're great but SO expensive) but I'm all over Zoya.
I have 12 Zoya polishes: Kimmy, Mimi, Apple, Ali, Dove, Jo, Trixie, Richelle, Kristen, Megan, Kendal, and Kennedy. And I'll be amassing more slowly. I justify it by telling myself that it's definitely cheaper than getting a manicure every week, and that the cost for a bottle ($8, but I've gotten all of mine using promo codes) is totally justifiable when I look at it as like 10-15 manis.
After having some conversations with Miss Debauchery about nail polishes, I said "what the hey" and decided to start this thread.

I love nail polish! I have a whole plastic shoebox bin full. I get a lot of different brands, mostly cheap ones, since I change my manicure weekly, so having my polish last for a super long time isn't so much an issue. China Glaze is the brand you want if you're splurging though. It is SO nice.
I do a lot of nail art, and watch a ton of nail art tutorials on Youtube. They're addicting! I like doing stripes the best, and usually just use a steady hand, though I have also used tiny brushes, toothpicks, and painter's tape as tools.
I haven't worn polish in a couple of weeks now, because I misplaced my Sally Hansen Double Duty basecoat/topcoat and haven't found it yet, plus I've been super busy. My last manicure though was candy cane stripes. I used a nice cherry red as a basecoat, then used a white nailart polish (with tiny brush) to do diagonal stripes, staggering thin and slightly wider ones. In the end, my manicures usually end up with at least five coats of polish: base coat, color, details, top coat, 2nd top coat. My nails are naturally very thin, so layering up helps them not break.
For my next manicure, I'm gonna do a reverse French. Black nails with white half-moons at the cuticles.
