I usually wait mainly cuz I wanna get up points to pay down the rest of the costs. I usually know exactly what I want but if it's out I just choose another off my wish lists - got a bunch of stuff on there.
The holiday coupon conundrum
02/01/2011
I really want the red minx harness but it is currently sold out. Luckily, its in a tie with La Femme harness, so if Minx doesn't come back in time, I'll get that. I'm otherwise waiting because I KNOW I will thinking of a billion things I SHOULD have bought minutes after I place the order, so this time I have a strategy: coupon giftlist that I add to as I find them. This will probably be the most expensive order I make from EF, but I want to make that generous coupon count!

I managed to place my order within a few days of getting the coupon and it was certainly the biggest order I have ever placed at once. You just can't beat 35% off.

I say get what you can, but I would totally hold out for at least another week or two.

This is only the 2nd time I've gotten a holiday coupon (yay!) but for the Christmas one, my strategy was to just buy ASAP, lol. I got a lot of things that time. But for Valentine's, I'm waiting it out a little bit because I'm hoping for a few things to come back in stock

After receiving the fantastic holiday coupon from EF, I realized that not everything I want is currently in stock. I could have gotten an alternate color that I'm not as crazy about, but I decided to wait instead since the coupon is valid for a few weeks longer. Unfortunately, now 3 more items on my list have gone out of stock making me a sad panda. So my question: What is your shopping strategy with the coupon?

Well I usually wait until the last minute, but only because it takes me that long to figure out what I want
02/02/2011
If just the color we want is out of stock then we'll pick another color. But if the items we want aren't in then we'll usually just pick something else of a similar price off of our WishList.
02/02/2011
Hmmm, that is trickey. I would probably wait for the last possible minute to see if anything changes.
02/02/2011
I prepare my next order as soon as I have placed an order so I know basically what I'm getting next time.
Fortunately for me (touch wood) everything I have wanted each time has been in stock.
Fortunately for me (touch wood) everything I have wanted each time has been in stock.

I am really bad about letting items sit in my cart until they go out of stock, but usually I just save points for when they come back in, and use coupons on really large/expensive items.
02/02/2011
I plan on waiting until pretty much the last moment to save up points, just depends on what days I am working, and then I will place my order. Since I am not planning on any lingerie, I am not concerned with something I really want going out of stock. My wife and I are moving in April, so we are saving up money for that right now, so I won't be able to go purchase crazy with this coupon.
02/02/2011
I actually have an extensive spreadsheet of stuff I really want, want but can't justify for the price, and need to get. I can add things to a mini cart in my sheet and it applies the coupon, subtracts my points and tells me how much I'll have to spend, if I get free shipping and when it'll get here depending on when I order. I just swap things out when they go out of stock, but leave them on the sheet with a note if they come back in stock. I have a weird spreadsheet fetish...any excuse to play with excel...
02/02/2011
Well, one of the pricier items I wanted came back in stock yesterday and I decided to pull the trigger despite a few lesser priced items not being available. I figure I can always get those in the future.
02/03/2011
I'm still waiting to use my coupon. I'll probably wait until fairly last minute to rack up however many gift cards/points as possible.
02/03/2011
You're holiday coupons are still valid? I was told mine expired January 15 and wasn't ever able to use it.

I wait because I am trying to get enough points to cover the rest of the costs and also so that I have money to spend... I am having to wait for my first pay check so the cupon kinda sucks for me till i get it.
02/06/2011
I'm definitely waiting as long as I can to pick up some garters for my wife. I need them soon, so if they aren't back in stock, I'll unfortunately have to get them elsewhere. If there wasn't a time crunch for me, I'd wait patiently for them to get back in stock.
02/06/2011
I waited (until about an hour ago to start my shopping) and TWO of the things I really wanted, a book on Fantasies and the sheets spray were out of stock, as were two of the movies I wanted. Also, the NJoy stuff was on sale on Sunday and I am kind of kicking myself for not getting a Pure Wand then. We had a bad weekend, and I didn't get around to buying anything.

Right now I'm in a black mood because everything I was waiting to buy has gone out of stock. The Satin Princess Cincher, the lace top stockings with backseam, the aslan ball gags, all of it. I'm just praying they all come in before that coupon expires, since I really can't find anything else to spend it on.
02/16/2011
I usually wait until the last possible moment to buy, if it comes into stock than I am super happy - if not than I will just have to buy another one of my options.

Yeah, it sucks when things are out of stock. I also have two items that I am hoping will be back in stock before the Valentine's coupon expires.
As far as the Njoy stuff no longer being on sale, you are actually better off...unless the sale discount was larger than your coupon code. When something is on sale, Eden's system will not allow you to apply a coupon code on top of the sale price.
So using the Pure wand as an example:
The regular price is $107.99
If it was on sale at let's say 20% off, it would be a good price at $86.39.
But, using the 35% off Valentine's coupon instead would bring it all the way down to $70.19, a really good price. $16.20 lower than the sale price!
I understand Eden not wanting us to not stack coupons, can you imagine sale price minus the Valentine's coupon minus an affiliate code, and on and on. It would be like they were just giving out free sex toys. We wouldn't want that would we? Oh wait, never-mind, please disregard that last statement.
Don't change a thing Eden. We love you!
However, it would be nice if Eden's system would allow us to apply the larger discount, as opposed to being locked into the higher "sale" price.
I was planning to purchase the Njoy Large plug, but when it went on sale I decided to wait for it to return to its normal price, allowing me to apply the Valentine's coupon. Unfortunately it sold out, so now I am forced to cross my fingers and hope it returns to stock in time for me to take advantage of the coupon. Or worse case, I will simply choose something else from my wish list and get the Pure Plug at some other time in the future.

Yeah, I realized I couldn't get the "Free" toy with my holiday coupon. It's not a big deal, I have plenty of toys. I bought mostly books and videos and lube anyway. I understand not being able to stack coupons and things. They have a business to run, and they do it well!

Yes, quite well!

I would wait to see if the items are back in stock. You'll never know when the out of stock items will arrive.

I haven't bought anything yet with our holiday coupon for this year and it will expire on Sunday.
