8 birds in the house. All our dogs were put down after getting deathly ill/too old. So we took in rescue birds, one here, one there, and then it grew to 8 lol.

That's awesome! Me, I forgot to put down chickens. I've got four show chickens because I've been in 4-H my whole life and they're what's left. You know, some say one can tell what a person's like by their pets.

I have a small zoo lmao
Everything from chickens to kitties and cuddly bunnies to creepy lizards. And way too many birds (they are loud!) I love animals. I used to have many wild animals too as I volunteered at a wildlife rehab for injured or needy critters.

3 dogs, 3 cats, my mom breeds angelfish and a horse. I've always wanted a couple chickens though

We have four cats (three Persians and one Siamese/domestic mix), one dog (Pug), two hermit crabs, six Betta (Japanese fighting) fish, four goldfish, two African gray water frogs, and possibly a hamster (my daughter's sixth birthday is on Wednesday, and my mom is threatening to buy her a hamster, lol).
I say "we" because while three of the cats (the Persians), the dog and two of the Betta fish are mine, the other cat, hermit crabs and other fish belong to my husband and kids.

No pets for us. Apartment doesn't allow it.

Right now, we have one bratty queen cat. Over the summer we had a beautiful chicken but she's gone to her forever home.
Over the years, in this apartment during my lifetime, we've had:
chickens, cats, finches, butterflies, hermit crabs, tadpoles/turtles, crayfish, lobsters, catfish, normal fishtank fish, and a few other things that I can't recall at the moment, but I know there's been more
We do alright for an apartment.

No pets here. I had cats but my mom took them because my daughter was allergic. She has since grown out of her allergy, but my mom has fallen in love with the cats. She's keeping them.

We have one dog, two cats and some danio fish. We just moved so I am hoping to set up a bigger tank and get turtles again.
I have owned bunnies, rats, birds and lizards in the past.

I currently don't have any pets.

Three dogs; two lab mix and an Min Pin. Two White Rock chickens; a two year old hen and a Roster that is just starting to wake us up in the morning.
I also feed about six or seven Deer that frequent my back yard. Almost have them eating out of my hand, probably they will trust me after the rut. Not really pet's but well you know.

We have a 10.5 year old lab mix dog, two house rabbits (my "kittehs") and a beta fish.

And I thought I was the only one who had chickens! Wow! This is really great.

Cats rule
I wouldn't mind having a ferret, skunk (de-skunked), or a squirrel.

Okay, so I put rabbit- but I don't actually OWN a rabbit...yet. I am actively looking to adopt one, but the poll was about pet preference and that is definitely mine!

I have a 11 year old dog, and I said I got a cat too, but I'm getting it in 2 weeks. Can't wait!!!

I've had, in the past, hamsters and a few birds. I would like to have a rabbit, aforementioned de-skunked skunk, and a few dogs maybe.

I love my snakes, chameleons, ferret and sugar gliders! Chameleons were finicky though. They HATED being held and would get really dark. Creepy...

House rabbits make great pets if you understand how to take care of them. If my bunny does something bad it is really my fault for leaving something that I don't want to be chewed accessible to him.

I have a cat and a rabbit. I also voted for dog because I had a dog who passed. I have his ashes. I love animals. Living on a farm would be ideal.

That? Is priceless. I should start referring to myself this way.
Right now, I have 12 cats (yes, TWELVE), a dog named Macintosh, and a fish tank. At one point, I had a couple snakes, but we had to give the Ball Python away because she was getting too big and figured out how to get out of her cage, and the California Glossy I had ended up having a snakey aneurysm. Yeah, I didn't know they did that either. He was in his teens though, so I guess it was age related. It was SO sad.
I've always wanted a ferret, but I'm sure my dog would eat it at this point. Or a llama... although I don't know a) where I'd keep it and b) if it's allowed in city limits.
So the cats... yeah. We had four when we got married. Three were mine, one his. A week after our wedding, we found another one, an orange female tabby (very rare, by the way... only 1 in 10 orange cats is female). While we were waiting on our house to be finished, my mother cat-sat for us. Orange tabby was about 6 months old, and mom had a male cat of similar age. Anyway, she got knocked up on her very first heat... had SIX kittens. One passed away, we gave one to the in-laws, and the rest... everyone said "oh, I want a kitten!". No one picked up their kitten. Now, three years later, they are all cats. Then we traded our nippy Jack Russell terrier to a friend for the equivalent weight in cats. We got three more. So yeah, a dozen.
I should change my screen name to "Crazy Cat Lady".
And whoever said you can't herd cats has never used a can opener before
