I don't have one
Pet dog and cat owners. Do you have a "pet door"?

No pet doors! Our animals are always and will always be inside animals, so if we have a dog that needs let out we just let him out.

I have a cat door for my bedroom door. So the cat can come and go freely without disturbing me while I sleep, eat, have sex, etc.

Its best that I don't have a pet door. My dogs always bark at the neighbors dog.

I don't have a pet door. My dog sleeps outside, because he is a husky and my cats are indoor cats. We live close to the main street, we don't want them getting out and getting hit by some idiot driving too fast

We've had a dog door for the last 15+ years and will never be without one again. Even now, in a rural setting, we have yet to have anything other than our dogs come through despite the door being large enough to accommodate a medium-sized human.
It's nice that my dogs can come and go as they please when we're not home.

I think pet doors are a really great idea so dogs/cats can be independent about what they want to do.

Don't have a pet door and don't want one. Aside from the security issues, I prefer knowing where my pets are and controlling where they are. I personally would not be comfortable with my pets letting themselves in or out as they please for a couple of reasons. First, safety concerns for my pets and secondly because I'm the pack leader and I decide who goes out/in and when. Me controlling those things just reinforces our bond as a pack and my position in it, making life in other areas that much simpler.
I do a lot of pet sitting, and I've found that dogs who normally use a pet door to go in and out do not listen/mind/obey as well as dogs who are used to being let in and out by a human.
But, your mileage may vary, and all that!

I would love one, but I don't think my dog could figure it out. We already just try to leave the back door open and he is afraid to go into the back yard as it is.

Nope never have

I want one that opens and unlock when the dogs get closer. But now that we are moving south I have my concerns about snakes getting in. HUGE FEAR!

I have inside AND outside animals and I could never have a pet door! We live out in the country in the south and no telling what would come in

My kitties aren't allowed outside anymore I don't trust how people drive in my neighborhood anymore. Not after I lost one

Anyone else enjoy having a dog or cat door?
