Pet dog and cat owners. Do you have a "pet door"?

Contributor: Bignuf Bignuf
Since we have a fenced hard, we had two "pet doors" installed for our three dogs. I cannot imagine life without these, ever again. They are so happy, coming and going as they please.
Anyone else enjoy having a dog or cat door?

Don't have one and don't want one. If we had a fully fenced yard, it would be ok. We could use one for the basement door to keep two of the dogs from eating out of the cat litter box though!

There was a pet door leading from our porch to outside that was covered over by previous owners. I don't really want one. Our dog gets confused and goes exploring. I don't want her to have free reign of the neighborhood again if a workman left the gate open.

I will speak for my mom since she keeps my daughter's puppy at her house...she would NEVER want a doggy door.

No. The dog could jump any fence so if we did we would lose her.

We don't have a pet door, and we believe it's unnecessary. My pooch likes us to accompany him when he does his things in the back yard.
Unless you have a really well-behaved dog, that doesn't bark like crazy when it's left alone in the backyard, it's not a good idea to have a pet door for it to roam around freely, and cause nuisance to your neighbors.

Nope don't have a pet door, my dog is way too big for a pet door in the sense that a human would be able to come through her door.

Indoor only cats. I couldn't stand to let them face the dangers of outside.

NO pet door but I have a huge fenced in back yard. Really not an issue letting the dog in and out.

There are enough spiders and scorpions that get inside the house as it is, I don't want even more entry points for them.

We have indoor only cats, so no pet door for us. I can see the appeal with a dog though.
