Many years ago, when I was single and unattached, I traveled to Germany to learn German at the Goethe Institut language school. After flying into Frankfurt I was taking the train south out of the main train station. Well there was a very long wait, more than four hours. When I finally discovered that I could "check" my bags and then be free to walk around downtown Frankfurt I had less than two hours wait. I wandered around a little but not very far.
Years later I discovered that if I had taken a left just out the front door of the train station and walked about three or four blocks, I would have been in Frankfurt's legal red light district. Where I could have quite enjoyed several hours. Some years later when I was back in Germany with the US Army, I made a point of informing the single soldiers, new to my section of that opportunity. Hell, I even led a few soldiers on a walking tour and translated their questions as well.
I never did utilize those services and I do regret that.
