I solved that problem by buzzing my hair down to an inch off my head, and then I went bald. Soooo not helpful, am I? :-p
Ow, my hair

Show Sheen, a product to make horses' coats shiny and their tails tangle-free, does an excellent job of keeping hair from tangling. Or, if you're really really desperate, WD-40 can work.

There really isn't! You'll just want to wash it out before anyone smells your hair.

The only downside I've found to it so far really is that if you have earrings (like I do) and constant pressure bothers them (yup, me again) then after a few days, your ears will hurt. Part of that was the bandana, but part of it was also the sunglasses, and the added pressure from the hat.
