For me, vomit is pretty much a no-go. So is anything related to saliva, but spit-talk grosses me out no matter what time of day it is.

Vomit is the only thing I can't handle that well. It's very hard to clean up vomit. I'm glad I have only had to do it twice so far.

Whenever my toddler son is sick; I pull out a table cloth for him to sleep on. He lays on the floor on that table cloth. If he gets sick all I have to do is rinse it in the shower. It's the easiest way to clean up vomit. I can't stomach it while I do it. I usually end up sick as well.

Spit. Saliva. Hawking lugies. Coughing up lung butter. Hacking up a lung. If anyone does this or starts talking about while I'm eating... my stomach rolls and I lose my appitite.

Or if they start blowing smoke in my face.

If the conversation can be kept light and without bringing up images of things that I find to be vile, we're cool. Otherwise, as Romantic Goth says, my stomach rolls and I lose my appetite.

Definitely vomit. And I can talk about guts stuff but watching CSI/Bones/etc other shows where they SHOW you dead bodies/simulation of things that are kinda gross are a bit hard for me to handle while eating.

I hate it when someone talks about bowel movements and vomits while I'm eating.

Personally, I'm okay with just about anything while I'm eating. When I was a kid, I'd watch Fear Factor during dinner - didn't bother me. The only time I'll pull the not-during-dinner line is when other people look uncomfortable and aren't saying anything.

I've read books on vivisection, studies on how bodies decay, and other topics that disgust my partners at the dining table. If I'm hungry and don't have a stomach bug then I can separate what I'm discussing/reading from what I'm eating.

Vomit, nose stuff, bathroom stuff, and brains and guts...does not sound appealing to talk about while eating.

Nothing can bother me when I'm eating. I guess you could talk about anything, but once I get food in front of my face, that is what I concentrate on.

I'm fine with talking about anything while I'm eating. Sometimes I'll bring things up and my boyfriend will tell me not to talk about it while he's eating, and I'm always kind of surprised because I don't even think about it being innappropriate.

Just vomit, even sounding out the word brings the taste of bile into my mouth.

I think I'm pretty tolerant if we're just talking about those things. If I'm witnessing vomiting or boogers, it just might stop me.

For me not much bothers me. So I picked "its all fair game". But if you mention vomit to my wife at any time she starts getting ill.

There are no topics off-limits for me when I am eating. I can separate food and conversation easily.

GREAT QUESTION. Because of our fields of work, MANY "off limit" topics to others are our regular dinner conversation!!!! We often have a Friday night group that discusses sex as well as POLITICS and LOTS OF RELIGION issues....the only thing, and I mean ONLY thing, that would be a STOPPER would be "vomit". NO...don't want to hear that at the dinner table. Oh, I guess nose picking, while not as bad, would be best put on hold too.

Totally depends on the company one is in, and the professions in which they spend their day.

I deal with all kinds of "bodily functions", as does my hubby, so discussing that at dinner is, well, boring. Our daughter, going to be a surgeon, is sure not bothered by it, and it may be one reason she IS studying to be a surgeon!!!!

The funny part is that we had dinner once, with a group of, of all things BUTCHER SHOP OWNERS (yes, odd thing, but we owned a share of a restaurant and so the association happened). We almost BOTH "tossed our cookies" listening to THEM talk about their day!!!! Just goes to show you. One man's dinner talk is another man's nightmare.

I WISH I could do that. If anyone EVER says something about my FOOD (OH, those noodles look like WORMS)...it is ALL OVER FOR ME. Yuk.
