Bacterial pink eye produces the thick, yellow nasty stuff most of us associate with pink eye, however, viral pink eye is more watery. As such, this might be further evidence that it is viral. Again, though, I'm not a physician or in the field of medicine. My knowledge comes purely from taking care of my kids at home over the years. Do NOT depend solely on what I am saying here.

Another thought occurred to me. Some hospitals have triage nurses whose main job is to address questions like this over the phone so that their ERs are not clogged with people who don't need emergency help. You might want to call your hospital to see whether they have such a person to help you. Of course, it may very well be that they ask you to come in and see them. Either way, it can't hurt to call.
