I alwaysc cruch eveything, even if it's going in the recycling. You're not alone trust me! My boyfriend never crushes anythign either and it drives me crazy lol it's got to the [pint now where he sorta leaves stuff on the side so i can crush it!

This is going to make me sound like a snob, but I have maids. I separate my rubbish into various bins to make it easier for her, and I have been trying to reduce my rubbish output to 1kg per week.

My maids have asked me not to crush things or flatten things.

When I am in Canada, I flatten everything ad crush it all too. And make great use of the compost.

We (try to) compost and recycle, so whatever is deemed as "trash" after that usually isn't anything big. If it's big it's probably recyclable!

We do a lot of recycling at my house, and we break down boxed and stuff like that for it to go into the recyclable waste can. As for usual trash, food scraps and such, it doesn't seem to take up much space at all..

I sort the hell out of my trash. Organic waste goes in a bag in the freezer so it doesn't stink, recyclables get sorted (Paper, #4 plastic, #5 plastic, glass (though it mostly gets reused) ) and that leaves almost exclusively stuff like tetrapaks and unrecyclable plastics
