96 Honda Accord. Some day I'll get something new(ish)!
How OLD is your Car or Van or SUV?
03/17/2013
10-11 years old
03/17/2013
mine is a 1994.

I have a 2001 Black Chevy Malibu Love the car...but it has problem after problem.

My van is 17 years old. We bought it brand spanking new all those years ago. It needs a minor repair or two and we are currently deciding if we want to fix it or buy again. It's been a great vehicle for us.
Our other vehicle is 7 and we are hoping for another year or two before we replace it.

I have a honda that is an 08. It still runs great and gets terrific gas milage. I plan on keeping it till it dies. Our other car is a 94 mazda and I feel the same way about it.
03/17/2013
Well, the car is about 7 years old but we've only had it for about 2 1/2 years.

99 Chevy Blazer, runs great no reason to get rid of it.

I'm the proud rider of two bicycles, each one older than ten years old, and one of them at least twenty (it's vintage and I restored it to its former glory). I don't drive, and don't think I want to start unless electric cars are more affordable. Our planet is too polluted as it is.

I drive a 2003 Saturn Vue.
03/17/2013
I have a 2004 Chevy Cavalier....just like about a million other people around! But that's totally cool, I have no feelings or opinions about cars to be honest. I hope it never breaks down....and if it does I may just buy whatever Cavalier equivalent is out there!

I am the proud owner of a 1998 Nissan Altima. 15 years old, had a tree fall on it, only minor repairs and runs like a dream. She's an old friend, really dependable, and I'll keep driving her as long as she's got life in her!
The longer you keep a car (as long as you aren't spending loads on repairs) the more money you save. I've always kept my cars as long as I could, it's just fiscally responsible in my book. I'm proud to have a car with NO car payment, I don't worry about it getting scratched, and pretty much no one wants to steal it... but it starts the first time every time.

I am truly impressed with your interest in bicycles! Good for you! I just wonder how many other people will return to the use of bikes in their short-distance travels to work or their local store!

You have a great point about NO car payments; that makes a big impact on your financial situation for the better!

One is 27 years old and one is 23 years old! Ha! My 01 Honda just pooped out, just goes to show the classics are the best!
03/17/2013
I'm carless. Also, only 22 years old (almost!) so that's okay, I guess.

About 18 years old. But I only drive from home to the train station. I always catch public transport when I can.
03/18/2013
6 pushing 7 years old.

Five years old, runs great, etc. And the dealership is starting to send us info on new cars. Not getting anything else until we HAVE to.

i put 50k + miles a year on my car, i trade in when i reach 100k - generally every 2 years or so i get a new car.
however, i just traded in a 2012 dodge journey with just under 40k on it for a 2013 dodge charger. the journey, just wasn't meeting my expectations.

At this time, just how old is your Car or Van or SUV? As costs of vehicles continue to rise and as transportation is such an important part of our society, I was wondering just how old is your vehicle today. To reveal a true and accurate answer from our ER contributors, I am making this poll private to avoid any embarrassment!

Yes, I've notice that my local car dealership sends me from time to time letters indicating their need to buy my aging SUV due to high demand! Go figure that marketing strategy!!! Thank; but no thanks!

I am truly amazed by your answer! If I can have a vehicle last 15 years, that is great!
