Since Eden has become more like a social network, it is usually a daily for me. I am always looking, reading, and keeping myself updated with products and commenting on people's profiles or reviews. Whether you are "employed" by Eden or you are a dedicated reviewer, exactly how many people know about your "hobby" or job (depending on how you look at it)? Are you secretive about your EF "life" or does everyone know why the mailman(woman) drops big boxes off at your house at least twice a week? If so, how do people you know feel about it?
How many people know about your EdenFantasys "life"?

I wouldn't care if people casually knew. I would care if people knew and went on here purely to follow my sex life, particularly if they were commenting on it in real life. Haven't gotten really involved yet, though (waiting a while before working on serious reviewing.)

All of my friends and family are uptight and closed-minded types.
The problem is, I am a sexual person. Strictly dedicated to my husband. We are always trying new things and trying to find new ways to expand the sexual part of our marriage.
I have girlfriends that I would love to talk about sex with or share "secrets" with but they are the "type", you know what I mean?
Everyone would definitely think it is abnormal that I buy sex toys and flavored lubes.
Do you feel that this is something you should keep in your marriage or should you be able to be open about these things?
I guess this is the main reason why I joined Eden to begin with... No judgement because everyone is here for the same thing..

Our friends and what family we still keep in touch with know and, since they also know how we are, most of them were amused when they found out. My mom was actually a reviewer here for a short while too, and we get asked for a lot of advice these days. Scary thought, huh?
The UPS man definitely knows too (he Googled us and found our blog) and he likes to tease when he brings packages. I think he still believes that the over-sized box we got at Christmas time was a sex machine. Oh well, good to know we gave him something more interesting to ponder for the day than what was really in it .

I'm not shy about anything nor is Britt, so both of our familys know and while some don't like or accept it, others do and think its great! Then you have the few (like Britts mom) who are always getting toys from us and think its really really great! Lol

I told my mom and she was like disappointed, I felt like she took as if I was a drug addict street hooker. I was very surprised at her reaction; all I could say was oh well its my life and I cant stop because you don't approve.

I have other friends who are simply to hung up about sex to talk to.
As for family, I don't think so. I was raised in a not-so-tightly-knit Catholic family and s-e-x wasn't discussed much on one side and a bit of a joke on the other.
Obviously, My husband knows, but he's always going, "Be careful what you say online." He's pretty paranoid about the internet and isn't a "joiner" has never joined an online community, thinks Facebook is just there for employers to get dirt on their employees and his rather narrow minded attitude towards internet friendships bothers me. FTR, he isn't much for IRL friends, either. I've actually had to make play dates for him with other men. Really. He's in his 50s. Just not a really social guy.

depends on their sense of humor, I mean as far as my parents go they know i'm old enough to do as I wish, and I live with my girlfriend, so the fact I have sex is pretty apparent though we don't "talk" about it, What are they gonna do try to have me send it back? lol They just laughed after their eyes finally popped back in their head from witnessing the sheer size of a Dick Rambone lmao. Most people go around being shy about things, i'm one of those people who prefers to live out in the open. This is me and how I am, Love it or leave it. so naturally being parents they accept that I am rapidly becoming A sex freak and while they don't "support" me, they certinly don't chastise. So I say throw it up on the hood, probably better than the trunk so if it falls off you will see it and can stop to pick it up lol. Let us know how it goes

You shouldn't worry about being judged, and if they are gonna judge you there not really what I would call a "friend" anyway you know? I mean no offence to your friends of coarse but living in a shell and hiding who you really are is just, well not "you" lol. I recommend waterfalls approach, "They can get over it". Not to mention when people realise you stand for who you are they usually accept you for it, and in my experiance even respect you more for being braver than most people dare. Please don't think I'm telling you how to live lol, that would be seriously uncool of me. I just want to see the world happy, healthy and all getting along without fear of persecution. I'm a hippy at heart.

I thought it was just my husband who seemed to grow more anti-social with age. His motto is, "The more people I meet, the more I like my dogs." My son even teases him and says, "You need to go out with the guys, oh wait! That's right you don't have any friends." He would be perfectly happy with just me, him, the dogs and NEVER leaving the house. Honestly, I am all good with that. We are strange that way.
As for the question, I have about 4 "friends" (the kind you tell everything too), everyone else is in more of the acquaintance type category. My friends know about Eden and my reviewing. My mother knows too. I have helped her pick out some nice toys and given her suggestions on usage and lube tips. I am very open with people I trust.

I don't do the reviews or anything. Just buy stuff and participate on the forums. Need to get around to finishing an article I'm writing for Edencafe, though. My family doesn't know at all, that I use toys, and I intend to keep it that way. Several of my friends know, however. I am very open about my sexuality.

As far as me being open with my family about the fact that my husband and I both use sex toys and watch porn (*gasp*), I can't ever see that happening. They would think we were weird and perverted. Sex is not really discussed, except jokingly or (even worse) judgmentally, in either my husband's or my extended family. Despite being comparatively vanilla, it's been insinuated that I am some type of whore on my husband's side of the family because they just KNOW I wasn't a virgin when I married him. (EDIT: Actually it was not insinuated but clearly stated. I quit worrying about what they thought of me after that since I was so disgusted with them. Apparently being a good, caring person who is faithful and loving to their son/brother doesn't mean a hill of beans to them. Their questionable, extremely HYPOCRITICAL, and condemnatory "values" reflect negatively on them, not me.)

My husband, my sister, my best friend and her husband (my hubby's best friend), and the rest of my girlfriends know what I do on here. None of them have an issue with it. I really don't care who knows, but I don't advertise past my nearest and dearest. Except on my blog and it's anonymous for everyone who doesn't know me personally anyway.
04/06/2011
Truthfully, a handful of people know but only my husband knows where to find my reviews. I have some online friends that know too, but I don't really count them because they don't know who I am offline.
Some days I really want people to know, but that's mostly when it comes to conversations about sex. I really believe that toys can benefit anyone if they open up to the idea, but I find it hard to talk about without revealing just how much I know about toys. I really don't want to encourage anyone to get into cheap, potentially dangerous toys (like jelly).
The rest of the time I really don't care. If they know, cool, there's something else to chat about. If not, it's our really awesome "secret".

I know I am new to EF and new to reviews but I answered anyways. I have always been into sex toys and have been the go to person for a few of my friends. So EF has been a wonderful outlet for me. Hard to believe at 17 I was going into a store that sold sex toys out of a closet way in the back, that you had to ask to go into.

It sounds much creepier than it really is. He's been our delivery man for like 6 or 7 years now, and he's always flirted (with both of us), but not in an out-of-line way or anything. He commented on how often he was seeing us when we started getting a big influx of weekly packages, and we just said we were "product reviewers" but didn't say what kind. Unfortunately, some companies aren't as discreet about their shipping labels as others are, so it was obvious at a glance that we were getting at least some adult stuff. And everything comes to "Alan and Michele" (with no last name) so I'm sure that curiosity just got the better of him once all of the facts were combined.
