I think it depends on the email. But most of them I save for about a week or when something is paid off or an event has happened.
How long do you keep your emails?

I don't normally delete anything, but about once a year I'll delete forum notifications. It's not like they're in my inbox getting in the way, they're just archived.

i delete a lot of notifications from sites or forward them to spam. I will keep recipes and invoice numbers along with anything from school or a personal contact, however i will delete things like invoiced and recites once my item arrives/or the event has passed.

I hate clutter and I have stored records of things pertinent to my internet accounts.
I hold onto shipping notifications til the package(s) arrive and then delete them - the printed copy is there and will be put in to the receipt pile for tax filing should taxes be included, if not it's usually tossed within a day.
I don't have personal e-mails; all correspondence is kept to IM and Text anything else is business related and removed when no longer valid.
