I prefer my fruit... in my mouth! LOL. Hahaha. I'm kidding. Just a kidding. When I read the title, that is what came to mind (in my mouth.) LOL.

I grew up eating most fruit cold & never thought about it because that's the way it was presented to me. Then I got sensitive teeth; that's when I started leaving the fruit out to warm up before eating it. Sure, I'd picked fruit outside, such as berries, & eaten them warm & they were delicious. But I hadn't tried always eating it at room temp.I have discovered that it just tastes so much better when it's not cold! This made sense once I thought about it; the colder a food the harder it is for your taste buds to sense the flavor. This is why ice cream seems so sickeningly sweet when it's melted. It's also why we often prefer a meal to be hot, it just tastes better. This must explain why I dislike hot meat, I don't like the taste of it to begin with, (except bacon), but when cold, its more palatable to me. Enough about my idiosyncrasies, lets focus on just the fruit...
Do you prefer to eat your fruit at room temperature or cold? less

I actually am chewing raisins right as I'm typing! Lol.
On a serious note, I like it cold, I guess. If it's big slices of cucumber melon, canteloupe or watermelon, though, too cold & it kinda hurts my teeth to chew it. I don't mind it a little less than refrigerator cold, but really warm would be ick. Lol. Room-temp fruits are fine with me too -- like raisins and bananas. Peaches, those suckers are delicious any temperature, I bet! I didn't think about berries -- yea, I like berries warm or cold. Both are great.
Whoa. How interesting about the cold/sweet thing! That never occurred to me, but it's true. Ice cream does seem super sweet and less good to me if it's not very cold.
Now that I really think about it, I guess I might not have much of a preference about cold or not. I mean I've eaten watermelon and bananas and berries of all kinds and apples and oranges all at room temperature & never thought anything of it. Then I've eaten cucumber melon, canteloupe & other things cold (watermelon too, it's delicious both cold or not!) and didn't think much of it, but I think those couple -- canteloupe & cucmber melon are something i do enjoy a little better when at least a little cool.
Lol about the bacon -- it's just irresistable! I am not a big meat lover either, but I do love bacon & I do like hamburgers.
I personally don't bother heating food up. I actually have not used a microwave in the last year! LOL. The oven and stove, I use, but if the food is already cold, I don't even bother heating it up, I'll just eat it. Even if I prefer it warm, like pizza. Lol. Strange! Now some things are gross once they've gone cold like chili cheese fries or something, but it so happens that I usually end up eating food that's gotten cold.

@ Kendra, I eat a lot of food after it's gone cold, too. I knew someone was going to say "in my mouth", I was just waiting for it & was surprised it took as long as it did! Just your example of chili gone cold made me gag a little bit! I certainly understand about the meat. I prefer it used as a seasoning, you know, a little in the dish to give some flavor, but not having to bite into a hunk of meat, yuck. I like stock & such, because it really makes things taste great, but a slab of steak, or a chicken breast are not at all appealing. Funny thing is, if I took that chicken breast & made chicken salad out of it, I would be more likely to eat it
