My parents took me.
How did you get to school as a kid?

Always rode the bus unless the only option was having my mom drive me.

I always walked to school. The suburbs I lived in didn't have bus service. I only lived a few blocks from the High School I went to, but I lived a mile from the Grammar School I attended from 1st to 7th grade. It sucked in the winter and my mom couldn't drive. (I've never understood why.) I was always trying to bum rides off of other kids' parents when it was raining or really cold. My mother would just put me out, shut the door and go back to bed, with no real concern about how I actually got to school.
My children either took (take) the bus or I drove them or a friend did. I wouldn't let my kids walk to school, there are registered sex offenders in the building close to both the Grammar School and the Middle School.

Cat E.
I always rode a school bus.

My mom worked at the school so I got a ride every day, plus I lived out in the middle of nowhere and my parents didn't trust the bus because I had to walk a mile from the bus stop to get home. There were meth labs on our road so there were a lot of creeps!

Bus...
I hated it with a passion. Most of the abuse I took during school took place on the bus because the drivers couldn't really see me, but they did start to wonder and report stuff when I started to sit directly behind the bus driver. But no matter how much the school complained or I complained (even while crying) my mother wouldn't take me or let a concerned teacher take me. She finally gave in and let a teacher take me when I came home with a bruised face and a note from the teacher letting her know that the cops were called this time.

I took the bus from grades 1-6, my parents took me and picked me up from grade 7 and 8, and I either took the bus or a friend took me to school when I was in high school. My mom picked me up from school when I was in high school because I did drill team and we practiced everyday until 4:oo p.m.

For the majority of my time in school K-12, I took the school bus. Public school - represent! In high school though, I started to drive myself since I went to a magnet school about 20 minutes away.

Parents drove me when I was younger, walked when I was older.

I used all of the options, depending on my age and where I lived. I moved a lot in my school years.
