Prefer over the ears. The only time I ever use in ear is for monitors used in group I sing and play with,,and they are a PAIN.

Lol, I am actually weaing the plug ins in this picture, right now.

I like both. I hate the old plug in's bcs they are big and hurt my ears but the new ones that are really tiny fit my ears really well. I love big earphones that cover my whole ear also. I have tiny ears so a lot of earphones hide wmy whole ear.

I use my Sennheiser 438's to block out the complete morons around me whenever I can, they go wherever I go unless I'm going somewhere I don't mind people chatting around me or for a short walk to the store, even then only sometimes do they stay home. got interchangeable cords too <3
never going back to crap like Skullcandy though, rubbish quality and overpriced just because of the looks

same applies to the rubbish 'Beats' headphones, if you want good headphones, check this thread over on Head Fi (audiophile central) out link EXCELLENT reviews on over 65 pairs of professional headphones ^^

I prefer the in-ear headphones, mostly because the ones that completely cover and block all sound makes me nervous! I like being at least partly about to hear the noises in my surroundings, cause I'm all paranoid like that.

Over the ear are much better quality. The earbuds don't have the same range of bass and treble and just don't give as good a sound as the larger over the ear cans do.

Personally all I've ever used is earbuds. I love using them since they're really comfy and, in my opinion, give off decent quality (depending on what model and brand). I really like the JVCs marshmallow earbuds, the Sony MDR-ED12LP earbuds and I have the Skullcandy pictured at the start of the thread. All of them are good though my favorite is the Sony earbuds - love the bass on them.

I'd love to have a good pair of actual headphones though but I haven't found any that meet all my criteria that would make me want to try them out. (I'm more picky with actual headphones than earbuds).
