YES it is soo much fun! As long as you don't feel self conscious.
It is aerobic exercise, so it may take a while to lose weight. Do it often enough with enough vigor to sweat, add some weight or strength training exercises and eat well(I don't eat well so I maintain my weight) And eventually you will see results. But it takes time!!
Right now I take Salsa lessons, and some of the ladies there are overweight they said it took time to build up endurance. they could only go 30 mins, but now they can go over an hour!
