I eat raw garlic whenever I have a cold. Garlic has a compound allicin that has antibacterial and antiviral properties. Cooking garlic destroys it. To quote wikipedia, "A small (146 healthy adults) double-blind, placebo-controlled study found that a daily supplement containing purified allicin, had dramatic results by reducing the risk of catching a cold by 64%, the symptom duration was reduced by 70% and those in the treatment group were much less likely to develop more than 1 cold."
Have you ever eaten garlic cloves? How do you like em?

I put a ton of garlic into my food, but I've never eaten an entire raw clove, nor do I want to! I've heard that putting a raw clove of garlic into your vagina will clear up a yeast infection.

I love the taste of garlic, but will only eat whole gloves when I'm sick. I mostly like the taste of it in food.

I tried this when I was about 10 years old when I was at my grandma's house because I had read about it in a book she had. Brilliant little me, I decided to pick the largest raw clove and wrap it in a piece of turkey and then proceed to eat it whole. I was sick for the rest of the day!

If you're eating raw garlic for medicinal purpopses, cut it up into pieces small enough to swallow if you can't stand the taste.
