For me, it depends on the situation. Right now, I just lost my older brother from complications due to diabetes and addison's disease... so I'm gaining a lot of weight through that. When I have a break up, I usually starve and have no appetite, so I lose weight. What about you all?
Do you gain or lose weight in stressful times?

I have a bad habit of not eating at all if I get stressed out.

i'm sorry for your loss. i have gone thru times when i have sought comfort in food, especially sweets. other times i have not eaten enough, those times are usually when i'm being hard on myself for things. when i have high anxiety it's difficult for me to eat and/or i will forget to eat.

I'm never hungry during stressful times, so I end up losing a little weight. Unfortunately, it comes back with a vengeance.

When I'm sad, I lose weight. If I'm stressed because I have a lot to do, I usually gain weight.
I'm sorry for your loss.

Lose

I lose my appetite, so I tend to lose weight, too.

Back a few years ago, duing a rather stressful time in my life I lost over thirty pounds due to the stress. It was bad enough that my shrink recommended two kinds of antidepressants. That helped with the stress but my appetite came back and I gained all the weight back and a bit more.

I drop weight, doesn't matter if my appetite changes I drop the weight.
Same thing happens when I come down with a virus, I don't find myself sick often but when I do it's usually awful.

And I also have a eating disorder history so it kinda clashes together. :/

Even if my appetite drops when I'm anxious (which it does) my weight honestly stays the exact same. It probably has to do with my Diabetes, PCOS and other assorted endocrinological medical ailments.

I lose weight due to my appetite being nearly close to zero and anything I eat I usually get sick from worrying, stress and all of the crying. I'm sorry for your loss.
12/11/2012
I'm a stress eater so unfortunately I gain.
12/11/2012
my weight has not changed in over 15 years. Sorry to hear about your brother.
12/11/2012
It varies, but it tends slightly towards gaining weight
12/11/2012
I gain weight :/ I wish it was the opposite.

My weight stays the same--and I sometimes overeat, sometimes undereat. I guess not frequently enough to make a difference.

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss!
It doesn't seem to matter what's going on, if I'm stressed, I'm gaining weight. Nothing will change other than the stress and it still happens!

I always seem to gain weight. maybe because i drink too much pop when stressed... or snack more.

Cat E.
My weight always stays the same no matter the situation. When depressed or stressed, I'm always able to eat.
12/12/2012
It depends on the severity of the stress. Usually I quit eating and tend to lose weight.
12/12/2012
usually gain but occasionally lose
