I will only go to walmart if it is an emergency. I have had limit results when asking any associate for assistance. I find the pricing is not as cheap as they talk it up to be.
Does anyone feel their soul shred a little anytime they go to WalMart during the holiday season?

I hate the term "Everything we have is out." Accompanied by a wave in the general area where the product may be.
When I was a teenager I worked at Carson's and we were told that if we EVER told a customer "Everything we have is out." Or refused to look for something, refused to look in "the back" for items that were not on the floor or said we didn't have a product that the store did have, or refused to call an other store to have it shipped TO the customer we would be fired on the spot! I saw it happen, with a girl who was lazy and told a customer "Everything we have is out." She was fired IN FRONT of the customer.... which is the way retail should be done.
The people on the floor are there to HELP the customers. Anyone who says, "If you don't see it, we don't have it." should be fired immediately.
I don't like laziness and I don't like lazy "associates." ; ; (Whatever the f*ck that word means.) If they don't want to do their job, there are plenty of people willing to do it. Of course, if Walmart wanted harder working, more dedicated to the customer employees, they could treat them better. People usually don't work there if they have any skills or self respect. Still, if the people who run that hellish place cared, they would treat all their employees and customers better.
Yes, I get drained when go into a place like that.
The ONLY way to make things change; REFUSE to shop at places like this until they change their policies. People want to buy cheap crap at low prices and don't care how they are treated, so the way Walmart treats it's customers continues.
I refuse to even walk into the place. I know it's hard when you have ONE thing that only ONE store has, though. They need to change, but as they are making money hand over fist treating people like shit and people TAKE IT, what reason would they have to change anything?

Not really. It's the main place I shop.

I do, not just Walmart, though but with all stores around the holidays. I am not a great shopper, hate the crowds!!

I wish we had Target here in Canada. I heard recently they will be replacing Zellers with Target and we will be getting one close by. I can't wait! We have to go to Bellingham to be able to shop at Target right now.

I get that soul shredding feeling every day, since I unfortunately have to work there. I make sure to get any shopping for anything done a few days before the holidays, since I can at least avoid the store a little.

HOLY BLEEPING BLEEP! I just went to Walmart at 9:00pm tonight to check out the sales starting at 10pm. I've never really done Black Friday shopping except late that Friday night when everything's picked clean. It was insane just now, at 10pm when I went to the front to check out, every register was open and the line in each one was 3/4 the way to the end of the store. Our Walmart is fairly big, there were probably 2000 or more people there. Some really great deals on lots of good stuff but wow. Stay away lol

I have stopped going to walmart (and I only ever really went there for pony beads). Their prices are (at least partially) due to absolutely appalling working conditions. I can't justify people being subject to that sort of thing for lower prices.

It really depends, and I've had some shopping troubles before.

Update on the pumpkin spice cream cheese: The walmart near me just started carrying it this weekend. A little late for thanksgiving, but it's better than nothing.

I'm beginning to suspect that Kraft didn't bother to make it this year ... don't know why, I've found fan-pages dedicated to that stuff when I was looking it up.
Just the way of Murphy's Product Law - if you fall in love with a product, the company will stop manufacturing it almost immediately. less

Thanks. I'll see what can be done. Although I did find the Pumpkin Spice cream cheese this morning at Target. I told mom to take a hand mixer with the whisk extension to make it more like the cheesecake filling and go at it.
