???????????????!!!

I wonder if that text will show... I guess I won't know until I try! Just in case it doesn't though, it says "Kawaii desu ne, chiiri-chan!" (The transcription of how they'd say/spell Chili )

You're welcome! And me too! It's all dependent on the money I may be able to save up. It's not looking good right now... But I want it pretty bad so we'll see.

I'd be really happy to go if I were closer.

The largest convention on my side of the country is a bit smaller. It is the only one I really enjoy after a decade of various conventions. Even in a space for something like 12,000, we run out of options sometimes. But the cosplay and other hobby related activities can keep us occupied if nothing else. We're pretty into those things.

I feel like I'm outgrowing the convention culture--I have felt it for a long time. I really feel like I'd be more at home at Japanese conventions now. Anime culture in the West has become its own thing. Which isn't bad, but certain aspects of it don't suit us.

Maybe a larger convention in the U.S. would be refreshing. If we have something else to do in the region, we can plan our trip around Otakon!

Maryland is pretty unique. Here are some completely true tourist stops in Maryland (try not to giggle too much at some of them).

1. National Museum of Dentistry

2. Geppi's Entertainment Museum

3. National Great Blacks in Wax Museum

4. Army Ordnance Museum

5. National Vigilance Park

6. American Visionary Art Museum

7. Urological Museum

8. National Aquarium

9. Fells Point

And that's just from a quick google search. It depends on what interests ya!

UROLOGICAL museum????????

I'd rather visit 'The Biggest Ball of Twine in Minnesota'.

Alura, I'm not as much into anime and stuff like I once was. When I go to a con I do it to meet friends and hang out with them. There may be a panel or two I might actually be interested in, but it's pretty much about being with my friends. Just a different perspective on the whole thing is all.

Illusional, Jen--thank you! Now I will have even more to do up there! There is also the Edgar Allen Poe House, don't forget that! Unfortunately, we can't really be traveling so far for a while, and I am refusing to fly because of the TSA stuff (Sucks because I wanted to go abroad...). But when the Fates bring me closer, I am seriously considering that con. I hear more and more about it.

Urological museum, tee-hee. I should look this one up!

In the last few years, we have started socializing more because of cosplay and photographers. It did change our convention experience a bit. But I feel like I have bitten more than I can chew sometimes. We're just not so much into the social aspects of cons. We're basement nerds, haha.
