My husband and I own smart phones, I also have a really crappy call only phone that I carry because its work issued (they don't even have it set up for texts).
Dumb Phone (Just Calls and Texts), Verses Smart Phones (Basically computers on your hip). How many of us own which?

I have a high-end Android & an iPhone 4. I also have a old brick Nokia & a Motorola TracPhone. The simpler phones are for when we hit a rough pay period and can't afford the $200 our phone bill is for the smartphones. (Because smart phones require data plans, and where we live taxes are INSANELY high.) I have to say... I like all of them, except maybe the TracPhone, but I've never liked the TracPhone service, lol.
I LOVE my smartphone, though. My high-end Android is an HTC, and it's literally perfect. I've had ZERO problems with it, and I've had it almost a year. The iPhone, on the other hand, we got two months before I got my Android... And we've had it serviced so many times they told us now the only thing they could do is send us a refurb for $149! No thanks, I'll probably just find an older Android that's been laying around the house and activate it on that line instead. They're so nifty when we go out, though! Especially since I'm forced to count carbs during my pregnancy.

If I want to surf the internet I will use my laptop thank you very much. Damn phone screens are just too small for my tastes to use as a computer.

I upgraded to a SmartPhone after years of using one of those cheap $10 prepaid phones. I'm not sure I use it enough to justify the cost, but I admit on the rare occasion I text, it's nice not to have to tap one key three or four times to select the character I need.

My family has a mix of phones right now, but we'll probably be all smart phones soon.

Dumbphone which I rarely use & I don't even text!

Haha dumb phones.. :-P
I have always had simple phones except for about 2 years ago I splurged and got a smart phone. It was fun but I was on it just WAY too much. I'd constantly be googling things or texting because it was so easy. After 5 months I dropped it on the concrete and the screen broke so I went back to a simple phone. I like it better, it's such a pain to text on a little candybar phone so I'm hardly ever on it at all and I call people more.
