I don't think I would want a car like that.
Driverless cars are almost here...do you want one?

i dont think so

Hell no. I dont trust myself driving why would i trust a machine

Everything depends on so many other factors.
For example, I very much enjoy driving fast on the highway. I also often as in daily exceed the speed limit. Since my state criminalized speeding of 40mph over the limit with mandatory jail time and several thousand dollar fines, I seldom exceed the limit by that much anymore. Yes I previously did so often. I find it tedious to creep along at the posted speed limit. With advances in technology "the government" could relatively easily add a speed limiter to most cars that would not allow the car to exceed the speed limit on the road you are traveling. My own car has an electronically limited maximum speed of 120mph. I know I've tested it on the highway before the change in the penalty. Now for the other part I've seen displayed on the gps map in my phone my speed AND the speed limit of the portion of the road that I was driving on. Combining that technology could keep me from violating the speed limit.
If/when that happens the joy of driving will be lost and then I just won't care if the car drives itself.
BTW I really am NOT a fan of Big Brother or the Nanny State.

I would if it had a manual driving mode in case of emergencies.

My understanding is that it you'd be able to turn it on and off like cruise control today, not just for emergencies.

But I would hope some highways and other major commuter roads would be "driverless-only", at least during rush hours, since a road with only self-driving cars could eliminate traffic jams and the need for things like traffic lights.

It would really depend....I wouldn't want to be one of the early owners....I'd need to see how it all worked out first.

Yes. I HATE HATE HATE driving. I get out of it at all costs if I have to. It is one of my least favorite things to do.

Every now and then it's nice to be in the car and just go somewhere, but for the most part, I dislike it a lot.

No thank you maybe after they have been out and are more popular than regular cars I might consider it. I don't jump on new technology until its proven itself!

I am a little accident pron so YES sign me up for one.

I can't stand a machine "thinking" for me or, for that matter, anyone thinking they know what is best for me. Heck, I get angry at the automatic features pre-set on my car as it is. I would not willingly trust my life to a machine like that unless it had years & years of testing & refinement. Even for a computer, I spend a ton of time tweaking it to my preferences when I first get it.

NO
because a driverless car cannot adequately react to idiot drivers on the road. sorry but until they are ALL driver-less it's just too much of a risk

I'll wait 2 or 3 generations until they've worked out most of the bugs before I consider it.
