I'm a mega-nerd/geek. I'm a gamer-been playing board games,D&D, and video games since I was a kid. I love everything from RPGs to FPS and MMOs. I'm also a comic nerd, a Star Wars/Star Trek geek, a history buff, Science Fiction & Fantasy lover, and a different type of geek- I'm a HUGE metalhead. And I mean an obsessed metal fan, you know the type- go to concerts all the time, listen to metal 24/7, spends countless hours looking for new music, and can talk your ear off about the subject.

Wow, this is the thread for me! I'm a gamer (Zelda, Castlevania, FF, The Sims), I love anime cons (wish I could go to more of them!), renaissance fairs, old school Star Wars and Star Trek (not much for the new stuff). I'm also a music geek (seen my fav band over a dozen times, I own a lot of bootleg music) and a book geek (I own 700+ books….I counted and listed them when I got married and moved, haha). And nerdiest of all, I'm a writing geek, I've wrote ten novels (unpublished and needing editing badly) since I was ten years old. *waves nerd banner proudly*

Some of us "jocks" are also nerds...SciFi and Computers for this one! I double lettered all four years in high school and I was friends with multiple groups in back then. I still get along and hang with all different groups. I find most SciFi worthy of a look and operated my own computer building and repair business several years ago.

Buy me a beer and I'll explain it to you--or I could show you with your girlfriend .

As for myself...I have fallen out of the gamer habit, but am still a huge sci-fi and fantasy geek (books and movies), as well as comics books, and I have a special nerdiness when it comes to business and social economics (Think "Freakonomics"). I am not super huge into manga, but I do enjoy reading the occasional story if I see one laying around (back to front, of course!)

And yes, not only did I get every reference in "white and nerdy", I live the vast majority of them as well.

lol, I know the movie, Revenge of the Nerds. It was a fave back when it was first released...a stepping stone for Anthony Edwards' career. I was just saying some of us are both jocks and nerds! And my GF likes my skills just fine, thank you very much!

I must be in the rare dork category. Don't know much about games or computers except what I've learned by working on my own lap top and when I was a kid played Crash Bandicoot or whatever it's called on play station and Rayman I loved those games!

I did pick start playing X-box at a friends. I would clean house for a man who my parnter and I grew up with his 2 sons and when the man got sick and only had a year to live, I started going by his house after my 'route' and cleaning for free while my partner spent time with his sons who we both grew up with. They'd play X-box & one day started an argument about how women don't know how to play Mortal Kombat. Well, I picked up the controller (for the very first time ever on X-box or with that game) and I'll be darned if I didn't sit there all night and beat every one of them! Ha! I still remind them of my abilities. Lol. Don't know how I done it, but I got to where I liked the game.

I'm more of a book-type of nerd I guess. Lol. I'm a writer so I do a lot of book reading and editing and am always looking for authors that really stand out to me. I am so intrigued by Mary Higgins Clark's work. She just always does a great job. I've read so many of her books, but just read the last one I own and have been searching for more! Tomorrow we're taking a trip to the used bookstore so I can find more from her and a few others I need for a writing assignment.

I guess I'm just a plain, boring, book reading and writing nerd.

I'm a professional geek. I work in IT, I love tech gadgets, and I love being on the cusp of technology. Not so big into some of the other areas, like SciFi and D&D and what not, but I have definitely been there.
