I always have music in my head. If my bf is recording or mixing a song or creating a beat he has to listen to it over and over then it gets stuck in my head until I hear something else
07/08/2012
Yep, the easiest solution is passing the song to get stuck in someone else's head

I know most people say a song gets stuck in their head sometimes. Lately, one verse of a song or a sentence from a TV show or something will pop in my head and start repeating over and over and over. It goes on for some time and I can't think of much else over the looping verse or phrase. I asked my husband if this happened to him (my sanity check!) and he said it does. So I thought I'd pose the question here. Does your brain loop like that?
Side question - my husband says that when his brain loops a verse from a song, he can't hear the actual beat of the music, just the words. I can sometimes hear the music along with it. If your brain loops and it's from a song, do you hear the words only or the music along with it? less

Yes it does. Music for me. I will have a tune in my head for days.

Cat E.
I think everyone is like that.

Sometimes when I have a song stuck in my head, I can hear the music and the words (even if I don't know all of the words...I have no idea how that happens...)

Yup. It's the most annoying when I don't know anything except for the chorus of the song, and it's the chorus that keeps repeating over and over again.

This happens to me constantly. It can even be a song that I haven't heard or even thought about in years. I'll just wake up one morning and it'll be stuck in my head for hours.

I have OCD too, and this happens as well. But with me it also happens with phrases, as in lines from television show or movie. Good to see it happens to the "normies" too. Hehe~

But if this is getting to be a problem, it may be worth talking to a doctor, even just your general practioner about. If it doesn't affect your functioning, it's probably nothing to worry about.

About everyday : <
I only can remember half the words, so it's like a skipping record.

It happens to me pretty often. When it's a song, I hear the whole thing, music and lyrics. In fact, if I try and concentrate on it a little it's almost like having my mp3 player on. I use this to keep my brain occupied at times, or to keep my mood up at work regardless of the crap that is playing on the radio. My boyfriend is the same way, he can practically cycle through songs just like he's listening to them in his head. On the slightly odder side of this, I've noticed that sometimes the last words I've said just echo over and over and over again in my head, often when I'm not feeling well or I'm dizzy. That bothers me a lot more than music does.

Songs, sentences, words....also visual loops....like a face someone made or something....
Also, sometimes I get a smell stuck in my head....like I can remember it so vividly to the point of "sort of" being able to physically smell it....
