I volunteer when I have the chance/time/money.
Do you volunteer?

I used volunteer at planned parenthood but quit when I started school again in the fall. I need to find a hospital or someplace I can volunteer at so I can get a little bit of experience (and help people).

I volunteer for the SPCA and also give my time to help with the Western riding club as show secretary and doing other paperwork.

I volunteer with Girl Guides of Canada, my local SPCA, and Safe Alliance (an LGBTQ organization). Occasionally I will volunteer with other places, if they call or email a request.

I have no time to volunteer but I do donate food, clothes & $ when I can.

I volunteer on a weekly basis at a local community center. I do interpreting/translati ng, so offer those services free to those who need them.

I'm too busy currently.

I volunteer all over, mostly with children. I was an Americorps volunteer for 2 years and did at least 1000 hours of service within 5 years between high school and college.

I volunteer in several places:
- Food pantry. There are several local ones in San Antonio. There are surely several in other cities. When I lived in Colorado there were several there as well. You can find them mostly linked with churches and homeless shelters.
- Soup Kitchen. Very similar to a food pantry. However, this one literally makes soup and only soup! Well, we make bread too but that's it. I do this about once a month because it really is hard work. There is only air conditioning in the front where the homeless people eat, and the back is so hot that it's something my health can't take more than once a month on top of everything else I do.
- Abortion Clinic Counseling. I offer advice and counseling to women looking to make the decision of having an abortion. Believe it or not, we mostly try to talk them out of doing it. Not telling them to KEEP the child, but helping them realize the other options such as adoption by parents who cannot conceive, or even their own parents who are sometimes willing to care for the child. It's a hard job and you have to go through a lot of training but in the end it's worth it. I've saved a lot of babies! And I've given mothers who cannot bear children their one wish! You can do this at pretty much any abortion clinic around your area.
I also counsel women who had an abortion and regret it. There are several suicides or attempted suicides from these procedures that are often forced upon women. I am there to help the girls understand that it wasn't their fault and that they were in a tough place. They can always start over.
- Homeless Shelter. I do this twice a month or more, depending on what positions need to be filled. We do things like laundry, cleaning mattresses, making the beds, preparing lunches, etc. It's very similar to what a nurse would do for someone in the hospital.
- Old folks homes. I used to do this when I was younger. It's a hard job because you fall in love with these wonderful folks, and many of them pass away. But it's a humbling experience and I loved doing it. Once again, it's like what you might do at the hospital.
- Epilepsy foundation. I have Epilepsy and I try to volunteer for the races/walks/events the best I can. I can run/jog, but not for long distances so I usually try to take over a booth or work with counseling groups and whatnot. This is what takes up most of my time.

I barely have time too, but an animal shelter would be my choice!
