Do you think long distance relationships can work?

It does depend on the people, but can also depend on the strength of connection and love. Sometimes we can make ourselves tolerate distance when the alternative of not having that person is too much or intolerable to us.

Long-distance relationships are very tough though; I would never recommend them, unless it is a necessity for just a short set period of time. Once you move beyond months and into a year or years, I think you are asking for problems.

It took a lot of patience, communication and hard work for ours to work. But we are together and happy today.

It really depends on the people involved. I've tried but it's never worked for me.

It depends on the people. My wife and I started out as a quasi-long distance relationship. We met while I was home from college, and so for the rest of that senior year we'd talk by phone during the week and then I'd drive home on the weekends, or her to me. It worked out great, but it takes a lot of work and trust.

As long as you two know that you want to be together it will definetely work out

It depends...it can't be long distance for more than a year in my opinion.

Depends on the people and for how long. The longer the relationship is long distance the more likely it will end.

Yes, and it really does depend on the people. I've seen long distance relationships work out fantastically, and long distance relationships fail spectacularly. It really depends, because it needs so much work and tending to that it can self implode by being let go.

Long distance relationships take time and dedication. One may become more dependent on the other, and you need to be in a situation where both people have good support networks. If any one person becomes too dependent on the other it can become bothersome because of the distance and because of the time that each person may be available to talk. Of course, this is the same as in normal relationships, but with communication as it is in long distance, this is even more so.
