I had 2 of my wisdom teeth pulled this week. The procedure wasn't as bad as I thought it might be. Recovery is going well. I was wondering who has had them pulled and who still has them.
Do you still have your wisdom teeth?

I had my top two pulled last month (I don't have bottom ones for some reason.)
I was extremely nervous but things went better than expected - I felt back to normal in less than four days

I still have all mine. I was supposed to get them pulled last week but some stuff happened and they couldn't do the procedure.

I think I actually still have half a tooth, but I've never really been able to get that confirmed one way or the other. Had them all out at once when I was 15.

I love the tooth fairy!
I have not had my wisdom teeth pulled. I'm not going to. The doctor said they came in straight and he didn't really need to pull them.
I was like 'HELL YEAH'!! I saw my sis get her teeth pulled It was horrible i'm scared for life. Hahaha!

I don't have any of mine, but they weren't pulled - they had to be surgically removed.

I found out in 2005 I had to have my wisdom teeth pulled. They hadn't really started coming down yet, so I had to be put under while they cut into my gums to get them out. They told me afterwards that they found 5 wisdom teeth in there, and that it happened every now and then. It was pretty awful to recover from, but I got through it. Fast forward to...2008, I believe. I just changed dentists and he takes some new X-rays. He's talking to me about what he sees in them when he says, "It looks like one of your wisdom teeth is starting to come down."
So I tell him about my extraction and he says, "They took out how many teeth?" And he came to the conclusion that some of the teeth they took out were just extra molars, not wisdom teeth. I can feel that last wisdom tooth making its way down, but my dentist told me it doesn't look like it'll cause any trouble. Thank fuck for that!

I only had two and they were on the bottom with no roots.
I have wonky tooth genetics. My sister only had three.

I had four out last year

I actually had 5 wisdom teeth. There was an extra little one in there for some reason. I had them all removed though.

i had all four out about five years. worst experience of my life!
i'm glad it went well for you!

I had three out before the dentist decided to go for a pair of fillings instead of the last one.
Word of advice: NEVER "just let" your dentist work on your teeth (with insurance). Have a flexible plan, but make sure they finish what they start and understand you only have so much coverage.

I had one cut out when I was a teenager but the other 3 are there.

Still have mine. I was a bit late to lose baby teeth, so I imagine I'll be a bit late to get wisdom teeth pulled, if needed. Definitely won't unless they get painful or something. (Be nice, Wisdom Teeth! I don't have as much faith in doctors and/or 'precautionary' procedures as most, it seems.)

I had all 4 cut out about 8 months ago. I don't think the healing process was nearly as bad as everyone says.
01/12/2012
I was born with all 4 and I'll be buried with all 4.
01/12/2012
i got all four cut out when i was 17 and i was in 10th grade. when they hurt sooooooo bad when they came in i coudlnt eat or talk! but the surgury was not tht bad but i did get dry socket in my two lower holes an tht hurt like hell!!
01/12/2012
All four for me! Thankfully I had it done when I was young.
01/12/2012
All four... and they had to be dug out (not pulled) because they were causing me severe migraine like sinus pain. I was really swollen the first day, but it was mostly gone within two day because I took large doses of arnica.

or ' i have no wisdom teeth.'
i have 1 wisdom tooth in and 1 stuck up in there somewhere at age 25. if i can help it, they'll stay in forevers.
after 3 years of braces in highschool, i am so over the dentist.

I had my top two pulled when I was getting braces at 18, because they wouldn't come down on their own or some such.

I still have all 4. They give me issues time to time and 2-3 of them are trying to come through but there's no room. Once a month I deal with migraines but I absolutely hate the dentist and it scares the crap out of me to go. I have made appointments two times during migraines, and then chicken out when the pain goes away -sigh- All natural pain free childbirth but too scared to get teeth pulled out while under lol.

I have all of mine and they all fit just fine in my mouth without causing any issues.

Me too! I thought it'd be more painful. I only used one of the prescribed painkillers after.

I have all 4 out. I think i had a oral yeast infection after the procedure since one of my wisdoms was infection... I was given antibiotics and i didnt feel any pain til i ate a toasted subway sub a week later...
01/12/2012
They pulled all 4 of mine out at the same time, when I was younger. Boy was I in pain.
01/12/2012
Mine are impacted, but haven't been pulled yet. :/
I should get around to that, but they haven't been causing me problems, so I don't really think about it.

I only have 3 wisdom teeth and I'm keeping all of them. They're all coming in straight so my dentist and orthodontist told me I could just keep them all.
01/12/2012
I got all four taken out about a month ago. Luckily the recovery wasn't too bad.
01/12/2012
I had all 4 out at the same time. They weren't through the gum yet, and it was pretty miserable for about a week afterwards.
