Do you smoke cigarettes? If not, have you ever tried them or wanted to? If you do, do you wish you could quit?

nope and glad I don't think they are nasty and also I breastfed 2 boys for a year each so I didn't have to worry about all the nonsense about that

Nope, but I don't mind the occasional cigar.

I used to, sadly I was only 13 at the time I started, and thankfully at 14 I was able to quit cold turkey (by using suckers), I haven't gone back, but I have had a couple relapses where I take a drag off my mothers and my husbands cigs due to so much stress.

I can't stand the smell!! Never have, never will!

I vape. I have a PV (aka e-cig). I used to smoke but quit cigarettes two years ago.
10/15/2012
Nope, never have, never will.
10/15/2012
I don't smoke, I think it is a nasty habit.
10/15/2012
do.
10/15/2012
Never have and never will.
10/15/2012
No don't, so glad too. Bad for you, environment, expensive...

I used to be a heavy smoker - at times two packs a day, never less than a pack a day - but quit cold turkey with the help of nicotine patches.
It's been over 18 years since my last puff but at least once a year I'll still have a dream where I'm smoking.

Wow, that's interesting. My husband and I have been trying to quit, with no luck. I have heard from others that haven't smoked in many years that they never get rid of the cravings. That's disappointing.

I use to when I was 14, I quit when I was 15. Now I hate the smell of cigarettes.

I do smoke on occasion, but it's not a problem for me. I can go months without a cigarette. It's just something I enjoy once in a while. What can I say? I like it.

I've never smoked. My husband used to, and still will occasionally if the job gets really stressful.
10/15/2012
I do and I am trying to quit.
10/15/2012
I'm glad that I never felt compelled to start smoking as I could imagine becoming addicted.

I used to smoke, but only rarely. It would either have to be absolutely friggin' cold outside, (which, since I live in Florida, is anywhere in the 50s), or I'd have to be drinking; sometimes both. Either way, I've grown out of it.

no smoking here

It did take quite a few years before the cravings stopped but they did eventually go away. The years prior saw them getting less and less frequent and the strength of the cravings also lessened along with the frequency.

I won't lie - it was hell for me to quit! Seriously, when I was tempted to smoke I'd tell myself that I hadn't suffered for X months for nothing. I wasn't going to throw it away because there was no freaking way I was going to repeat those horrible early days of withdrawal.
My only advice is to identify your "triggers" - times/behaviors that make you want to smoke even if you just put one out - so you can either avoid them altogether, deal with them differently or just give yourself a pep talk before the craving hits.
I had so many triggers it was probably shorter to list the things that *didn't* make me want to smoke. LOL I had to have a cigarette as soon as I woke up, right before I went to bed, after I ate anything, while talking on the phone, while I put on my makeup, after sex, and so on. If I can quit, anyone can! Good luck!

I don't like smoking period.
10/15/2012
I do every once in a while.
10/15/2012
No, and I'm glad I don't. Aside from health reasons, it's just so expensive!
10/15/2012
I only smoke when I drink or I am super stressed out.
