Do you run?

Contributor: FaerieLove FaerieLove
I personally am a runner and was wondering how many other EFers run as well. Do you have any tips? How often do you run? How did you get into it?

My Man and I walk. About 2-4 miles about 3-5 times a week. We probably need to step it up a bit. Running on either of our knees would not be good. (I have Fibromyalgia, and it hits my knees hard, and he was hit by a car and it destroyed one of his knees, plus he has arthritis. See how fun it is to be... older?)

Ouch, I'm sorry to hear that. My mother has fibromyalgia from a car accident, I know it can be very painful. She just had her knee replaced this summer actually and I've been working with her to get her full motion back Good for you for walking that much! Most people who suffer have a hard time even getting out of bed, you should be very proud of yourself same with your husband.

I go for walks I wish I could run I get achy really fast. I love walking, I dont drive, I dont have my license because before now I never needed it being Im from chicago. But now I wish I had a license but still walk everywhere. It only sucks when its really hot outside. But almost every weekend me and my boyfriend will walk to the mall area from our apartment and well get a smoothie to share or something. It is about a mile each way.

When I run on a treadmill or when I am playing sports I have no problem - I could do it all day. When I am running outside just to run I struggle to get to a mile - I get all out of breath and my shins bother me - so I don't really run very often.

I mountain bike more than anything. I go hiking pretty often and every once in a while during a hike I'll take a run through the woods for a while.

I absolutely love working out, and there are a few wooded paths in the area that are good for it.

I can't run, all my internal organs seem to squeeze together whenever I run! I only walk for an hour up/downhills every day.

Unfortunately I can't, because I find it incredibly boring and my back/knees have sustained numerous injuries over the years to where if I walk for more than an hour or 2, let alone run, I am complaining like no tomorrow due to the pain. I'd rather swim or spin. Those don't make my body mad at me.

I don't run, but I do walk on my treadmill semi-regularly.

I was a runner in high school, but my body's really not built for it. I discovered biking in college, and I've never gone back.

Well, okay, I go back occasionally to reunite with high school friends who want to go for a run. Or a community 5k or whatever. But I'm so painfully slow as a runner... and the same muscles make me a wicked fast cyclist.

Used to run in high school for sports, but now I struggle to find the ambition to get up early enough to get a run in. I would actually like to start doing it again, but just waiting for my ambition to catch up to my plans

I only run if I'm chasing after a cribmidget whose found my toy stash and running through the house with it, or when I'm trying to get to something before someone else. I don't do it for fun though.

I prefer 'walking with purpose'.
However, I will run with I'm with the kids, or camping, but not for any real reason.

I like to run, but I don't get much of a chance to, these days. I don't like gyms, so I used to run the circuit of my local woods, but now they're too overgrown .

This body isn't made for running. Even when slim the tits and ass are jiggling away and I feel bloody uncomfy!
Give me walking anyday.
I wouldn't run after anything - even if I was going to miss a bus or train!

I only run for exercise when I really feel like it, but that is pretty rare. Instead I will spontaneously walk for 4-10 miles at a time, this happens pretty often in the summer, needless to say my shoes are in rags.

Not a runner, never have been. I'm a water gal - swimming all the way.

I run if I have to, but for the most part I prefer walking. My husband and I go to a gym on a fairly regular basis and we've been doing an elliptical for cardio, but I'm thinking about switching it up and doing a run on the treadmill instead.

Ack, you need an 'other' option! lol. I'm just starting to run. Doing the Couch to 5K program, and while it's kicking my butt, I'm enjoying it in a masochistic sort of way.

not very often. I used to all the time. But with the kids being so young, I have no time to go running or hiking until they get slightly older.

Yeah, only if I need to. My hips and ankles have never been that great, so running isn't my strong suit.

My wife and I run probably 3-4 times a week, and I lift weights on the other days.
