I try to, but I had a pretty substantial toy collection before I became a reviewer and then I took some time away from EF, so I have a lot of catching up to do.
Do you review every product you buy on Eden?

Agreed, if there are already scores of reviews and I don't feel I have anything else to contribute, I'll usually let it slide. I also no longer review lubes because I find it extremely difficult to write more than a couple paragraphs about them.

Another factor as of late is going back to school, which has made it hard for me to dedicate time to reviewing a toy I wasn't assigned.

I sort of try. I know I've bought a whole bunch of things that haven't been reviewed yet. Between not having the time and not having the motivation when I do, I just haven't gotten there yet. I'd like to think I'll get everything done eventually, lol
09/06/2010
I also eventually write a review on what I buy. I have some awesome toys that I've had for a while and have been planning on writing reviews on but I am taking my time in enjoying my toys and getting to know how they work best for me.
Sometimes I feel rushed to write my reviews and am afraid not to write enough detailed information. I am so glad we can do follow up reviews which gives more color to the experience obtained with the products.

Most of the things I buy, I already have an idea of if I will review it or not. I'd say 95% or more of the things I get, do I review.

When you buy a toy or other product from the site, do you always write a review for it? I recently bought a large load of BDSM gear and lingerie and for the life of me, just can't write reviews for any of it. These are just things I bought, they were not assigned to me, and I didn't use the buyout option, so nothing is really expected of me, I suppose, but I do feel as if I NEED to review them, if for nothing else than to give my opinion. So far though, no dice.
What about you guys? Do you write a review for every product you buy here at Eden, or do you just write reviews for what you are assigned or what you buy on buyout? less

I've written a review for almost everything I own that is available on Eden, the exceptions being the Velvet Touch, because I have it i a color not carried on Eden and it has a million reviews anyway, and the Pocket Rocket, which has a million reviews anyway. And there's a book I bought elsewhere that I could review, if I ever bothered to read it. Everything else, though, yeah. The reviewing is half the fun.
11/11/2010
I do not, there are a few items I have not and have no plans on, its not like I am ashamed, its just I don't feel like it as of now.
11/11/2010
For the most part, yes. There are a few items I haven't written reviews for yet, but plan to do so because I enjoy it. But, with items that I have no obligation to write a review for, I take my time in doing my "research"
11/11/2010
I review everything I buy from here and other sites. My collection is steadily growing bigger and bigger.
11/12/2010
I haven't reviewed my Hitachi. I don't think I can add anything to the 1000 reviews on it.
Also, some things haven't gotten enough use to review them properly.
I have at least half a dozen more books of Erotica I will eventually review that I haven't got to review yet. Books are a LOT more work than toys, IMO. I take notes when I read them, and then go from there. It's like doing a book report. Except I've never done a real book report on a book which had the phrase "throbbing member" or "heaving bosom" in it. BTW, if an author uses either one of those phrases, they lose a star on my reviews.

Since I'm just starting with reviews, yes, but as my collection grows, probably not. I still have a toy or two that I haven't reviewed. One is so old I don't even remember the name of it. The other I'm just don't know what direction I want to go with it.

I now have over 50 items that I haven't reviewed yet. I've decided to stop buying new things for a while though, so over the next few months I'll try to review most of them.
11/12/2010
I have a lot of items that aren't review assignments that I could review. I've reviewed some of my purchased items, but they all take a back seat to my assignments for the most part. If I have a lull in assignments I might submit a review on something I bought. Also, I'm more motivated to write reviews for products I purchased if I feel strongly about them (love or hate) and feel like my review would be useful. Of course, they help sustain or raise my rank so that's a motivator, too.
Like Carrie Ann, I prefer to do off-site reviews to help earn affiliate money, plus it gives me content for my blog. ^_^

I agree, I always try to do the assigned items ASAP. I want to keep getting them. (Two coming on Monday. YAY!) I also have an easier time with things I either love or don't love so much. I pre-wrote a review of a movie and when I re-read it, it was SO mean, (but really funny) that I think I'll have to re-do it.

It started with. Rough Sex? I've had Rougher Sex while I was pregnant.
I have to get this blog/affiliate thing going. I don't even know where to start.

I have a feeling I'm going to end up this way. A few of my reviews are stuff that my boyfriend had bought other places than Eden. I recently bought the JimmyJane massage candle from a local boutique because I was there and I wanted it RIGHT THEN. I'm contemplating reviewing it, but not right this instant. I also recently bought my boyfriend a Fleshlight, from Eden, that I'd like to write a review on, but I want to make sure it's a good review and I'm not exactly sure of where to start it. Since I'm not actually the one using it and all.
01/05/2011
I haven't reviewed a bunch of mine. With the holidays and court I just haven't really taken the time. But a couple items already have a bunch of reviews on them so I'm not sure if I'll do those ones or not.
01/05/2011
I try to, but I I feel no obligation to do so.
01/05/2011
I have so far...I'm hoping to keep it that way.
01/05/2011
No, there are things I just don't care to write about. I buy many great items that I do write about so don't get time for the ones that are just OK.
01/07/2011
The order I placed tonight, I used my Holiday coupon for. I chose things that I really wanted, but that are really popular too. I find those popular items are hard to write reviews for because there are so many people saying the same wonderful things over and over; it can be hard to find something new and exciting to say.
Besides, I like to use the item at least 3 or 4 times, so I really feel I know what I am talking about. When I have 10 things to review, sometimes the testing part can become more like a chore. All that said, I was happy to use my coupon and have no obligation, yet still get fabulous products at a great price. If I decide that I love them so much I need to spout off about it, I will write a review too.

At first I reviewed everything, but now it's just not realistic. I just can't keep up with my purchases and don't have the time to write reviews for everything. There are also items that have a ton of reviews already and I just don't feel I have anything to contribute. I've also started to buy a few books, and I can't imagine writing reviews for them. Porn is hard enough.

Kindred, I used to write book reviews for Amazon and several other sites. At first it seems almost insurmountable. But, as you start to do it, it becomes less difficult. I find taking notes while I read the book helpful. I am reading a book called Yes, Sir (collection of fem sub/male dom short stories) and I am keeping notes as I read.

I kept copious notes for Alison Tyler's book on Naughty Fairy Tales, as it was an assignment, and it was really helpful. You don't have to comment on every single story, if it's a book on short stories and probably shouldn't tell the ending, if it's a novel, but covering all the bases on a "how to" or educational book, briefly and concentrating on the best and the less than best that the book has to offer is good.
Write one and you'll be able to do it. There is a great feeling of accomplishment when you finally finish a book review. I know you can do it! You're a really great reviewer.
I have yet to write one for Eden on a porn DVD, I did write one and turned out more critical than I wished, and I don't want to start over, but I feel I will do it soon.

Thanks P'Gell, that's a great tip. It's basically what I do with porn. I watch it once through (okay, we usually don't make it all the way through on the first viewing before we get too horny) and then the second time I tart taking notes. I'll probably give it a try, but not just yet. I think I need to feel more comfortable just writing the porn reviews.
