I don't like realistically violent video games.

Do you play video games where you kill humans?

I play Halo with my boo and Skyrim - both of which involve killing humans and non-humans. I think it's really important, however, not to normalize violence in real life and teach kids what the difference between real and pretend is (and maybe refrain from introducing them to super realistic games until they're older - young minds have a hard time distinguishing between reality and fantasy).
But, yeah, it can be super fun to run around with a giant sword in Skyrim.

Yes, love them (especially playing real humans online)

I don't play FPS games or anything like that, and most of my choices feature cartoon violence at best, as I like cutesy games... Though I also enjoy strategy RPGs like Fire Emblem, and they do involve violence towards human characters. They're not gory, however.
A lot of people think that violent video games make people violent, but I like to stand by my opinion that it's actually a result of inner factors like antisocial traits or, in some cases, psychoses. I'm not even convinced that games are "triggers". Then again, I'm likely to defend the video game industry because I like playing games.

zombies do not count. they are already dead, and therefore not real in any way. same with vampires.

But sometimes Final Fantasy will toss humans at you in a way, but it's not violent, blood-splurty grossness.

If it's virtual people I don't see much harm in it for me, though I'm sure violent shoot 'em up style games could possibly be a contributing factor in mass shootings in real life depending on certain factors in the persons life.
For me, I couldn't harm much more than a bug/spider in real life without feeling horrible...actually even then I feel a little bad sometimes. less

i don't think that they are triggers either...or contribute in any way to encouraging a person do terrible things. what i think that they can be is practice for someone who is messed up and planning something. i don't know what that means, and don't believe things need to be changed because of it...it's just a thought.
