I've never had it happen in a way that wasn't like sexual harassment.
Do you mind when people hit on you?

Personally I find that sort of attention flattering as long as it's not creepy or threatening, but it doesn't happen very frequently.

Aw, the first part of your post is adorable. When it's classy and doesn't have intentions attached to it, it really doesn't bother me either.

it depends on how they do it. if it's a sincere flattering compliment, such as today, this boy hollered at me from across the street 'i like your outfit, and your hair.. you're pretty!' and i was feeling especially unconfident in the moment, so i smiled really big, and he said 'i like your smile too!' that made my day.
but guys just vulturing me makes me want to hurl. i'm not much of a fan of macho men for many reasons, and lean towards feminine men for the same. my boyfriend never hit on me, and i dont go for guys who 'hit on' other girls. it's disgusting to me. less

I can really see both sides of this issure.
For the most part, I really like to flatter the person I see or meet! I just try to make them feel good and make their day. I do feel sad for this girls who receive less that flattery comments!

I find it flattering, as long as guys don't get super pushy once I say no.

This is pretty much everything I would have said too. If somebody keeps going after I say I'm married I get really irritated.

It's also annoying when it happens multiple times in a short window of time. Example of course being when you go out to a bar or something and you get, like, ten people hitting on you in thirty minutes. I just want a drink already! The first three were flattering. The rest of them are hinging on my ability to have a nice evening. Thus why I don't go to bars without my husband and why I refuse to let him so much as go to the restroom. less

It makes me uncomfortable. I have social anxiety, so I don't really...know how to react. Hah! Even when my girlfriend was making a move before we started dating I was like, "Um...what are you doing?"
It's funny in a way.

I don't mind when people hit on me, but it does get on my nerves when they try to take it farther than harmless playful flirting when I've made it clear that I'm not available.
12/26/2011
It depends on the situation. If he isn't creepy or just someone after a piece of ass, I find it flattering. If it a jerk that is being pushy, or someone who cannot take a hint-creepy and disgusting!!

I really don't mean to sound like a prude, but when someone gawks at my body, I get quite offended. I mean sure, they're looking because they are interested in some way, but it really feels like I am being violated. My partner and I and the 12 year old were talking about this last night. I went in the gas station and when I came out my partner was laughing because apparently they'd caught some old man staring at me and A (12 year old) said "He was looking at her down below and ugh! It makes me SOOO mad!" LOL. That was kind of sad that people have no shame. When I catch someone behind me taking a look at my booty I will make a clear point of turning around so they cannot look or like I told them last night when A got upset, if I'm sure someone is trying to look at my chest I look at them with a not so kind face and I jerk my jacket shut.
I just don't appreciate someone staring at my butt or chest in a sexual way. It makes me think "who the F do you think you are? What do you think I AM? An object? Something to hang up and stare at, violate with your eyes?" That may be a strong reaction, but I do have my reasons. It just almost feels disrespectful like they have some right to just think about you in that way. It just bothers me.
I only get upset if I am totally sure that someone's really mean mugging my butt or chest. Those are MY body parts and I don't want others looking at me like that when I have a partner. What PISSES me off is when someone knows us both and will stare at my butt or chest knowing that we're together and monogamous. It truly infuriates me.
It's not flattering to me, it's insulting. Now, if someone says I am pretty or even the occasional "she's beautiful" is nice and I don't take any offense to that. It doesn't make me feel violated. It's the hard "I would F you" looks that make me feel violated. less

I'm never out alone, thankfully, and have had to use friends as buffers for sleazebags. I've had girls and guys pretend their my sig.fig. if I'm out without my husband. Of course, we are free to flirt, so if it's not sleazy, it's awfully welcomed.

can be annoying sometimes
