When it's on CBC Radio 2, sometimes. I like listening to whatever programming they have on, and when it's classical I'll often give it a go even though it's not really my musical preference

Yes but not very often. I'm not sure why.

I've been to see more operas than any other kind of music concert. :B

Seeing it in person really breaks down the language barriers and gets you into the theatricality of it, and I love when companies have fun with comic pieces.

I'm not as much a fan of music without vocals, but there are pieces I do enjoy, and I tend to like Baroque.

I grew up listening to classical music and playing a few instruments and being in a school band/orchestra. I've grown to love and fully embrace electronic music, which I believe is the natural progression of classical music. For around 30 something instruments and about 100 or so people in a modern orchestra, there are limitless varieties of sonic textures and instruments you could create and compose with for electronic music. The possibilities are astounding and endless.

I listen to it when working on homework or something that I need to concentrate on. I can't stand silence why I work, but music with vocals is too stressful. Classical works wonders for this.

I have a habit of listening to Bach while reading anything philosophy-related. Sounds trite, but it actually helps me to better comprehend what I'm reading.

Vivaldi is my best friend. I usually listen to classical if I've made tea and I'm reading something that will take a long time. Classical helps speed my reading.

All the time. We have a season subscription to the Oregon Symphony, the Portland Opera, and the Oregon Rep Singers. We have a Rep Singers concert to go to this afternoon. My favorite classical station (which I linked to on my profile actually!) streams on the web at allclassical.org.

Some of my favorite composers are Edward Elgar, Vaughan Williams, Franz Schubert, Arvo Pärt, and Antonín Dvorák.

I listen to a ton of other music as well, like folk, folk rock, classic rock, alternative, industrial, goth, and punk.

I'm lightly involved in the young fans of classical music "club" in Portland. We're not that unusual! And hearing all the great young classical composers out there, I don't think it's necessarily on its way out... it's just changing, like it has for centuries ("classical" can either be a really specific term referring to music in a certain style from 1750 to 1820, or it can be broad and mean everything directly developing from [very broad concept] secular and liturgical music from the 16th century on -- in which case it is still very alive and well today).

I started awhile ago and have really begun to like it...especially the slow, soothing kind, since my life is so stressful.
