I voted yes, because I work with a pathogen that has over an 80% mortality rate. While lab safety protocols will keep me safe, a few minutes of inattention could endanger my life in a very real, serious manner.

I don't work, so it doesn't apply. My husband works as a crane operator which is a dangerous job. I tell him not to tell me about how many times he could have died every day. It freaks me out.

nope, don't want one either.

Sort of. There's always a danger that one of the animals might bite me. Not so bad with the little critters we sell, but some of the customers have big dogs that they bring in. One of them could do some real damage if they chose to. Thankfully most are good-natured.

Nope

I don't even have a job yet

Nope, not even close to in the danger zone, unless you count something falling on me...but that's highly unlikely.

Cat E.
No, I don't have a dangerous job.

Our jobs expose us to potential risks, but I still think we have far, far safer jobs then firefighters, soldiers, police officers, etc.

Not unless you count the risk of getting burned, cut or stepped on as "dangerous" "(I work in a busy restaurant.) I know technically it's not a dangerous job, but some days it sure feels like one!
10/07/2012
Nope.

I voted other. I do installs many feet above the ground on scaffolding. One slip.....but not every day. About 2-3 times per month.

Unless a papercut counts as a serious injury, not so much.
10/07/2012
No.
10/07/2012
nope low key for me
10/07/2012
You wouldn't think it, since I work customer service/retail, but yeah, kinda. At the very least I've had customers make some threats.

Other. I work with individuals with developmental disabilities, and occasionally they can get violent. That hasn't happened to me in a very long time, though... *knock on wood*
10/07/2012
nope

I'm a preschool teacher, so it depends.

I voted other. I'm not in a very dangerous job, like a firefighter or a oil rigger, but I have sustained some serious injuries at work. I work at a cafe and market. I've gotten some serious burns and some back/knee injuries from heavy lifting or heavy objects.
10/07/2012
No, not at all.
10/07/2012
No job atm.

Not really. Unless you consider inhaling nail polish and nail product chemicals, no. I'm a writer and work in nail design, so those are pretty harmless jobs, although I do leave work with migraines from the strong odor of the chemicals quite often (even tonight actually.) So BC powders are my BFF, but no, my job isn't very dangerous considering most people have far worse. As far as my writing part, LOL. I think that's probably as harmless as they come.

Yes, I drive for a living.

Not usually. I'm a massage therapist and the only scary thing that's happened to me was having a client ask me on a date and then I said no and after work when I went back to my car he had followed me. That freaked me out for awhile, but I guess that could happen at any job. Fortunately we put that client on our blacklist of clients that aren't allowed to come back.

My seventy five mile (round trip) commute is probably the most dangerous part of my workday. Chicagoland drivers are for the most part some of the most selfish, clueless, distracted unskilled drivers I have seen anywhere on the planet.
