haha! well, only some are. that's almost like saying all dogs are also needy and bothersome. alot of cats couldnt care less what you're doing and just ignore humans until they need food. in which case, if you leave food out for them all day, they never give you a second look. it just depends on the personality of the cat.

my cats are really awesome. they leave me alone for the most part until i'm lucky enough to get them to come to me, or sleep next to me. when i come home they greet me and let me pet them and hold them for a few minutes before they want to go back to being independent again.
i've found that female cats in particular who aren't fixed can be a REAL pain. they won't leave you alone, will yowl all night... just a horned up sexual annoyance. but not all cats are like this at all! you just need to find some well-behaved kittehs.

I and my wife love cats soo much, but the only problem is their clutchs. It can damage furnitures.

you can get a vet to clip them or youtube some videos on how to do it yourself. you'll need the proper tool (a kitty-claw clipper that looks kinda like scissors, but is shaped differently) and some research before you can do it without hurting them.
i like to tie a piece of ribbon around the belly behind the front legs and another in front of the back legs. this makes the kitty more relaxed and they don't run away as easily. be sure you tie into a bow, so you can release it with the pull of one end, quickly if need be.
the kitties have a pink part of their claw which is like our 'quick' in our fingernails. if you cut into this, they will bleed alot, and it will hurt them! clip only the white part and kitty won't scratch the furniture so much.
also, many pet stores carry lots of things to encourage kitty to scratch on INSTEAD of the furniture. if you buy a carpet or cardboard scratcher, put some cat nip on it, and encourage the kitty to scratch on that instead, she will likely stop scratching your furniture.
if you catch her scratching the furniture, bring her over to the scratching post and encourage her to use it instead. reward her with treats. good luck!

Cats are CUTE and strike me as NOT "needy" but very independent. However I am very allergic to them, so NO...no cats for me. I am a DOG person, all the way.

I had the greatest cat growing up. A big rag doll. He was the sweetest thing and SO pretty and HUGE (ragdolls are just bigarse cats, he wasn't fat). However, I'm insanely allergic and no amount of allergy medicine did enough.
After trying to live for several years with constant headaches and sneezing and sniffles, we finally gave him to a close family friend who was dying to have him.
Then I was able to get my current dog, and Australian Shepherd. She's a babe.

I adore cats! The ones I've met seem to be the opposite of needy and bothersome.

It's strange how the ribbon around the belly trick works. I've seen it. I have no idea why it works.

I don't think cats are any needier than dogs. The two species just express their needs differently.

I've ALWAYS found cats to be lower maintenance than dogs.
Although I've noticed that cats tend to torment people that have a hatred of them, so it's best to just ignore them if you want nothing to do with them.

Cats aren't needy, they're demanding. Quite a bit of difference there. And I adore cats, much much easier to care for than dogs.
11/13/2011
Cats are adorable to me, even though they're balls of allergens. If I weren't so very allergic to them, I'd own one.
11/13/2011
Cats aren't needy. Dogs are needy. Cats are independent. Occasionally they'll demand something of you, but they're never needy. So much nicer than dogs.
11/13/2011
I don't hate or love cats. They're okay. I prefer my dog that comes when I call him and seems to want to hang out with me. My cats never wanted to do that. They just did their own thing.
11/13/2011
YES, I'm so glad you asked.
11/13/2011
I dislike them. I do not hate them, per se, but I dislike them. I much prefer human pets.
11/13/2011
I'm more of a dog person, but I don't really hate cats.

I love cats. Mine pretty much does his own thing. I leave food out for him all the time and if he's not out of food, he's antisocial and I don't see much of him, haha. I want another one, that will actually let me pet it and play with it.
11/13/2011
I love cats. I have a cute 6 month old grey kitten we named Luna. She's awesome.
11/13/2011
I'm definitely a dog person, but I adore cats too. I just wish they would let me cuddle with them more! otherwise I would probably have a million cats

No! I love angels!

i hate cats with a passion. they scratch and liter boxes smell terrible. not to mention they're kind of useless. at least you can walk a dog.
11/13/2011
It's a love/hate relationship with my two. lol.

I don't hate Cats but I prefer Phantom of the Opera.

They're cute, but I don't trust them. I'd prefer not to have any of my own.

She is so sensitive person and will not let me do any thing for a kitten's or an adult cat's claws. Even if it is not hurt them. We found a good solution: just feed them out of house it is better for the cats and us. Cat will live free, and we enjoy their company with no damages.

I don't hate them nor love them, I just don't care for cats. There are times when I dislike some cats that have a very sneaky nature, and those that like to use their stupid claws on people.
