Do you get "night sweats"?

Contributor: Falsepast Falsepast
Apparently i do, it's when you sweat at night no matter the temperature.
It sucks because i wake up and between my legs it smells a bit, if you get me.

I don't have this but my boyfriend does. He's always really warm while he's sleeping and gets sweaty. I end up having to move to the other side of the bed to get away from his heat.

I get night sweats sometimes, but it's my sheets that get damp and it doesn't really smell. *shrugs* I think my body just isn't good at temperature regulation since, when I don't take my allergy medicine, I get heat hives as well.

Rarely, usually when I'm stressed.
Then, there are times when I get sweaty while I masturbate and then fall asleep or masturbate in the morning, but it's different.

My body temperature has always been very high. I get night sweats probably 6 out of 7 nights per week. Nothing I can do about it but wash the bedding and make sure I wear my deodorant to bed.

Possibly, but nothing I've never really noticed. Sometimes when I'd turned off the ac or left the heat on I'll wake up and my hair will feel wet, so I know my heads sweat.

I don't (though if I dress too warmly for bed certainly I sweat!) but one of my SOs does, year round, regardless of the temp. Just one of those things!

I'm in my premenopausal stage and do get some night sweats, if I skipped my Damiana pills.

That's not what night sweats are. Night sweats are caused by menopause or certain medical conditions. It's where you sweat PROFUSELY while you sleep, then wake up drenched and cold and your bedding and clothes are so wet they need to be changed.

I only sweat at night when it is hot during the summer, if I forget to turn the fan on.

Ever since I started the pill, I occasionally get it. It's akin to hot flashes, I've been told. I sweat through my clothes and sheets. My doc says it's normal. It happens enough that it doesn't make me forget, but this is my best bc option for now.

I get overheated when i sleep and therefor sweat sometimes, but usually only when under the same covers as my partner.

Not usually, but if I'm sick I find I have a really hard time regulating my temperature so then I'm often either hot/cold at night and sweaty regardless.

Fun, ain't it? I got on premature perimenopausal dose of estrogen cream due to an orgasm issue and wow, the sweating is gone! So are the hot flashes in the day time. It's amazing. I don't know if I would have taken it just for the night sweats and hot flashes, but it is a nice side effect.

I also had to cut my dose of estrogen due to an insurance problem. The climax issue came back. I got back on my regular dose and it's better. It's wonderful what the proper proportion of hormones can do.

I think the OP is simply referring to regular sweating during the night. If an 18 year old is having actual perimenopausal night sweats, she needs to see her GYN immediately. A few years before you expect perimenopause is one thing, but having it happen decades before it should happen could be problematic.

The only time I had sweating at night before this was during pregnancy.

Mention it to your doctor. That may be nothing, or it CAN be a sign of multiple things, from SLEEP APNEA to some cardiac or circulatory issues. Don't worry, you will NOT embarrass your doctor with this question.

Yes, I assume the OP just meant that he sweats a little at night. I just wanted to make sure he knew that that term doesn't refer to sweating somewhat on warm nights.

Before estrogen, I would sweat so much that it soaked through to the bottom of the mattress. I would wake up in the middle of the night and it was like a bucket of cold water had been poured on me. And I would be incredibly thirsty too. I don't ever want to go off my estrogen.
