My husband and I are also foodies and always eat out when we travel. Our favourite restaurant is a Mexican Restaurant in a small town, that we try to stop at whenever we travel that way. There is also our favourite Fish and Chip shop that gets a visit every time we take the coast road.
Do you ever go out of town for dinner?

Just wondering how many others make out-of-town trips for dinner or food-centered weekend trips.

There is over 100 places in town to go. So no need too.

we haven't but would

I go to nearby towns, but I don't travel hours for the sole sake of eating meals.

A day trip to Nashville Tn just to eat at Demo's downtown. One of the best resturants I have ever ate at in my life.

We go to nearby towns, but not more than 20 minutes away unless we have something else planned.

Absolutely. My town has mostly fast food, so I often travel out of it.

I love trying different type of foods and I don't mind going out of town to try new foods.
12/02/2012
Yup
12/04/2012
We've done it, but we don't do it often. I love it but it's just too expensive to do often.

We go out of town to eat pretty often.
12/05/2012
Sure, why not?

One cool thing about where we live is that almost every kind of restaurant is within 10 miles or so of here. It's a true melting pot. So, while we consider ourselves "gastronauts" (adventurous types always eager to explore new culinary worlds), we never have to go far to find great food AND great variety.
So no, we don't. When I was in HS in NC, my GF and I would travel to surrounding towns to eat (and just generally to seek some excitement).

food is fuel. i would not plan a trip somewhere just to eat. though, i do understand that many people do this. if it's about the trip and not the food...i'd be all about it. however, i suppose this does give a reason to get out and go. whatever gets you moving.

Yes, but 'out of town' isn't exactly far. I just live in a very...very small own.
