I'd dip a wash cloth or paper towel into this and clean my kids. I changed it every day or two, so it would stay nice, and kept in in one of those heated baby wipe wraps, inside an old baby wipe container.

Wow...there are some gorgeous ladies here! I really LOVE the blue and the purple, and the style of cut you chose, or wearing or not wearing glasses, just goes so well with the colors they don't even really look radical or weird--they look like they belong on you; and the two looks are so completely different, I would never have thought you were the same person.

I like the Fuchsia on you, too--it comes out a really nice shade of a reddish-purple toned mahogany. My husband wanted me to color my hair that deep purpleish red color that does not exist in nature. I held off, because it's usually such a phony look, doesn't work on a lot of people who choose it anyway; and it's rarely done well, which is part of why I wanted to avoid something that dark. I did try it once, and it wasn't as disasterous as the red, but it still made me look like I was trying (miserably) to look like a goth (or is it officially 'emo' these days? Again, though, with the nice casual hairstyle, you pull it off brilliantly--it doesn't have the 'synthetic' look common in this color. I's attention grabing because it's striking, so it draws you notice it, bit it doesn'd confuse you or make you stare, because it fits you so well.

The red probably could have used more purple, pink, and maybe even a couple blond highlights, because it kind of looks like a wig. On the other hand, the cut frames your face perfectly, and the color wrapped around it really accentuates your facial features, even when you don't seem to be wearing a lot of makeup. So I don't subjectively like the color , but it showcases your face beaautifully, and you really have very attractive features. especially your eyes, and they draw my attention more than the hair.

Self explanatory title really. But tell us about everything anyway! Do you love to have wild colors that make you easier to spot in parking lots? Shy away from anything that brings too much attention to you? Cover your grays? Show your grays off?

I've been dying my hair forever, and I'm curious how many of you do it too. less

It is one thing to say you don't like such colors for yourself but to insult those who DO like funky colors is beyond rude. To belittle those of us who do, indirectly calling us names and putting us down, is downright unacceptable.

It would be... quite easy... for me to start listing things I do not like about YOUR looks. I refrain - because there is no place for that sort of insult here, no reason to pick anyone apart for how they look or what they choose to wear or the make up or hair dye they themselves obviously enjoy. It's tasteless, tactless and foul. less

I finally did the blue/green. I was hoping for more of a turquoise color, but this is what Special Effect's Sonic green looks like out of the bottle:



This was taken a few days before Thanksgiving. Right now, a few weeks later, it's much much more faded, and you can see the blond in some spots. I think I'm going to go back to pink after my wedding, lol. less

WOW, Julia, cute, but that did change color. I usually redo my overcolor semi permanent dye (it's a salon store brand similar to Manic Panic) every 2 to 3 shampoos, because I don't bleach mine out. I put the blue over my blue-black dye.

I used some Vagisil Feminine wipes last time. LOL! It was all I had in the house.

My head smelled like a gorgeous juicy.....never mind. It smelled good. It also did a good job of getting the semi perm blue dye off of my hairline and my part.

Thanks for the tip, I wouldn't have thought of it. I have to get some of those unscented Huggies. Much cheaper than Vagisil Wipes. less

I actually have a question for anyone who might be knowledgeable about semi-permanent dyes. I've dyed my hair red twice with Natural Instincts (I think the color was Spiced Tea) in the past two months. The second time I did it because my hair hadn't turned as red as I wanted and wasn't totally even. It turned out even and the right shade of red the second time I dyed it, but it's already starting to fade back into my natural brunette color except for around my face. Anyone know of a good quality semi-permanent dye that will actually last the 28 shampoos that they advertise? I'm too chicken to use permanent because my hair's been virgin for 5 years now, but I do really like it red. I also need to try using two boxes next time because I have long, thick hair. I have a Sally's card and access to CosmoProf, so if anyone knows of a semi-permanent brand that is longer lasting than the drug store brands, that would be awesome. Thanks!! less

Hola, all, I'm back. No cult yet--too cold for running around in cult-y clothes.

Serious opinions: I'm 38, 5'3", 225 lbs. (gads, I actually told the truth on that; 25 of them came on in a very unhealthy last 4 or 5 weeks), making me a size 18/20 or so, and my divorce was finalized yesterday. I have green eyes, and fairly light skin. I usually wear full-coverage foundation, because I still break out sometimes; on the plus side, I don't have any wrinkles yet. My hair is currently that neutral 'in need of coloring' shade, and cut in a fairly classic, shoulder-length bob. I have a long, oval face and fairly square job. (It would be easier to just post a picture, but in my current state, I'd rather be represented by the image of my shoes.)

I think a divorce calls for new hair! So...suggestions? What's the wildest thing a fat woman my age can pull off without looking ridiculous or pathetic? less
