Do you dye your hair?

Oooh! Huggies unscented (green box) have no smell at all, nor do they have a taste. Totally awesome.

You can buy the Huggies shea butter ones. They smell really nice.

Oh wow, thank you so much! I did most of it myself. One of them a friend of mine who's a professional did, and my fiance helps sometimes when I want to make sure I have everything covered evenly (a huge must when doing such a bright color). But for the most part, all done in my bathroom, lol.

I was really surprised at the amount of people who liked the blue as much as the pink and the purple. I'm changing the color again this week hopefully, so I'll come back and post a pic if I can get a good one, lol

I've never actually dyed my hair, which is straight, really long, and dark brown. But I'd love to let my wife give me blue tips. She's always dying her hair funky colors. Why not mine too?

Dyers of unnatural colors!

When I was very little, I thought the pink hair of Jem was awesome. I told my grandma we should both dye our hair pink someday and she agreed. She didn't, though. I moved far away and she forgot the discussion.

I went to an unusual high school known for it's freedom of expression and also for kids with unnatural-looking hair. I was never one to try and fit in, but it looked like fun! My parents are fairly conservative, but my mom said, "Oh,what's the harm?" And let me pick out a Punky Color. I chose dark purple, still my favorite color. It was wonderful--black in dim lighting and a wonderful dark, warm purple in the sunlight. My hair is naturally a dark blonde, so in the sun, it sparkled where illuminated in warm tones! It even smelled kind of good. My mom actually liked it! I was surprised by all the attention I got--some unpleasant looks from strangers, and approval from neighborhood kids who used to seem to hate me. I have a lot of interesting memories from that time. I count this time as a big building time of who I am today. I think having fun is one of the most important parts of life.

My hair has been dyed blond to keep a solid color for cosplay, and natural reds. Also unnatural red, purple, blue, pink. My hair is a sacred possession, I try to keep it near my waist. I have always done dyeing in moderation to help it thrive. And I kind of need to keep it this color for a while. But every time I go into a beauty supply store, I long.

My significant other wants to dye his hair blue, but he also keeps his hair natural for cosplay!

Oh, good. I don't like my face smelling like Ass. Even Baby Ass. (I just have a visceral reaction to the smell of regular baby wipes. "Oh, shit.")

I'll have to try those.

My Man will freak out, "WTF? What are the baby wipes for?" Clueless.

I love your pink hair! I think different colors just show the persons individuality. I also think colors can be very flattering not just for the color, but the pink looks pretty with your skin tone and eyes. I think a lot of people are intimidated by what they maybe be afraid to try themselves, and or what they do not understand.

I've recently let my natural color grow out, because I forgot what color it was. I've been going between red and black nonstop for a long time. I want a black that has a blue or purple sheen to it, but chances are it'll be hard to get hired somewhere with that kind of dye job.

I finally did the blue/green. I was hoping for more of a turquoise color, but this is what Special Effect's Sonic green looks like out of the bottle:

green

This was taken a few days before Thanksgiving. Right now, a few weeks later, it's much much more faded, and you can see the blond in some spots. I think I'm going to go back to pink after my wedding, lol.

I have never dyed my hair because it's a gorgeous blonde color naturally and if I ever dye it, I know I'm never going to get it to be the same.

I got a picture of the fadeout! Pardon the "I just woke up" expression. I had been awake about 10 minutes when I took this. I just wanted to make sure I didn't have really bad hat head, lol.

WOW, Julia, cute, but that did change color. I usually redo my overcolor semi permanent dye (it's a salon store brand similar to Manic Panic) every 2 to 3 shampoos, because I don't bleach mine out. I put the blue over my blue-black dye.

You have the exact same expression in both pictures. You're so cute.

I used some Vagisil Feminine wipes last time. LOL! It was all I had in the house.

My head smelled like a gorgeous juicy.....never mind. It smelled good. It also did a good job of getting the semi perm blue dye off of my hairline and my part.

Thanks for the tip, I wouldn't have thought of it. I have to get some of those unscented Huggies. Much cheaper than Vagisil Wipes.

C4ss, it's really fun. I think it's fun to play with my appearance, and hair always grows out, if you don't like the results.

If you like them, then you've found a new look.

But, whatever works for you.

Aww thanks

I would have touched it up, but I wanted it to be easier to dye over in a week or two when my hair will be going a nice dark brown for my wedding in about 3 weeks

Heh. Glad they worked but, yeah, baby wipes are much cheaper!

Amazing what a wipe of any sort will do though, eh?

Yeah. I will have to buy a box of those unscented Huggies wipes before my "Christmas dye job." Save the Vagisil for my snatch and my ass.

I was pretty amazed how well they worked, though. Easier than wads of soap soaked toilet paper. (I'm so classy.)

I used to dye my hair all the time but since my last escape to blond, I have been working on growing it out and getting a new style and coloring it again.

Jul!a, you are adorable. I am so jealous that like, every color works on you! I especially liked the purple though, cuz it's my favorite color

I actually have a question for anyone who might be knowledgeable about semi-permanent dyes. I've dyed my hair red twice with Natural Instincts (I think the color was Spiced Tea) in the past two months. The second time I did it because my hair hadn't turned as red as I wanted and wasn't totally even. It turned out even and the right shade of red the second time I dyed it, but it's already starting to fade back into my natural brunette color except for around my face. Anyone know of a good quality semi-permanent dye that will actually last the 28 shampoos that they advertise? I'm too chicken to use permanent because my hair's been virgin for 5 years now, but I do really like it red. I also need to try using two boxes next time because I have long, thick hair. I have a Sally's card and access to CosmoProf, so if anyone knows of a semi-permanent brand that is longer lasting than the drug store brands, that would be awesome. Thanks!!

Hola, all, I'm back. No cult yet--too cold for running around in cult-y clothes.

Serious opinions: I'm 38, 5'3", 225 lbs. (gads, I actually told the truth on that; 25 of them came on in a very unhealthy last 4 or 5 weeks), making me a size 18/20 or so, and my divorce was finalized yesterday. I have green eyes, and fairly light skin. I usually wear full-coverage foundation, because I still break out sometimes; on the plus side, I don't have any wrinkles yet. My hair is currently that neutral 'in need of coloring' shade, and cut in a fairly classic, shoulder-length bob. I have a long, oval face and fairly square job. (It would be easier to just post a picture, but in my current state, I'd rather be represented by the image of my shoes.)

I think a divorce calls for new hair! So...suggestions? What's the wildest thing a fat woman my age can pull off without looking ridiculous or pathetic?

Maybe Special Effects? It's worked well for me so far, although I've been bleaching my hair before dyeing with those.

And thank you

I'd go red. Maybe not "trying to pretend this is naturally red" red, but as close to fire engine as a box will let you go? Or the darker purpley reds?
