Do you drink Soda/Coke/Pop whatever you want to call it?

I'm not a fan of most carbonated beverages. Once in a very long while will I have a little ginger ale, but nothing else.

My husband drinks several. I don't know how many on a daily basis b/c I try to keep the cans picked up and put into recycle bag as soon as he drinks it.

I'd love that to be the case for our house. He goes through a 24 pack fairly quickly.

I'm a Coke addict. I know, I know, horrible habit, but I'm a born and raised Atlantan. It's kinda a sin to not drink soda (especially Coke products). I usually drink Diet Coke and save Coke/Cherry Coke/Vanilla Coke for holidays and weekends.
My mom is addicted to diet coke.

I have a SodaStream home soda maker, so I make my own soda really. Its super cheap compared to buying in the store, and not nearly as bad for you. I think a 12oz can of what I make of coke imitation is 12g of sugar, while real coke in a 12oz can is 36g.

I think I pay 5cents for each can of soda

I rarely drink pop. Sometimes in restaurants, and people always assume you want pop when you are a guest in their house, and I only usually want water. Bottled water. Where I live, the tap water is from a private well, so I am completely grossed out by tap water (especially since our entire neighborhood got E Coli from the tap water some years ago.) I hate when someone is trying to push alcohol (which I never touch) or pop on me at a party, and I finally say, "A bottle of water would really be nice." and they go to the sink to fill a glass. I can always taste something disgusting in tap water, so I pretend to drink some and then go out to my car and get a bottle of water.

We never allowed our kids to have pop. Only one of them drinks it now, and she only drinks it occasionally. My oldest doesn't drink it and my little one hates pop in all forms.

My Man also never drinks pop. We always have to put it on the list when we have a party, because people expect it. But, I won't buy "Diet" pop, it's SO bad for you, that fake sugar. I don't want it in my house (and I've been to parties where the ONLY drink aside from booze was diet pop. WTF?) Unless you have diabetes, you are better off with regular sugar if you have to have pop. I'll never understand why the people I know who are on diets or have diabetes chug diet pop like crazy. Were they never given water as children? Even fake sugar can have effects on your insulin levels.

I think in moderation it's OK for adults and teens, but I really hate to see little kids drinking it. Water is a healthy and abundant fluid. I know kids who won't even drink it. I don't understand that.

I have one at breakfast, but that's it. Recently I've been having more when I study because of the way the cafeteria meal plan works. Every semester you get a certain amount of meal swipes that don't roll over. Since people always ended up with too many meals, you can substitute a meal swipe for a 'snack swipe' which gets you a soda pop and a candy bar. I still have like 60 meal swipes to use in 2 weeks, so I've been buying myself and my friends tons of study food!

Yes, but I have to stop. Some people love chocolate, some people love salty snacks, my dietary vice is soda. But I really do hate the idea of all the empty calories (and I can't have diet soda) so I'm trying to wean myself off and onto flavored seltzer...some days it goes better than others

The snack opinions are soda pop and a candy bar? Aren't there any healthy snack options? Fruit? Granola? Graham crackers even?

I'm actually kind of recovering from a horrible soda addiction... I know that sounds kind of silly, but I'm actually serious. I used to drink like 6-7 sodas a day... I could drink a 2 liter in 6 hours... it was just bad. So, no more soda for me unless we're going out to eat.

Good for you!

Between the caffeine and the sugar (or corn syrup) pop is addictive. When my migraines weren't being treated properly, at one point in time, I was drinking between one and two liters of Pepsi or Coke a day. I did this so the caffeine would keep the pain at bay. As soon as I got pregnant with my last baby (she's 12 now) I quit, pretty much cold turkey, with the occasionally small glass to take the edge off. It took me most of the pregnancy to get rid of the craving for it, but I don't even want the stuff now.

Keep up the good work.
