Unless you just let them grow and grow - you have to somehow find a way to trim your nails! Lately, I've learned to stop biting mine and have switched to trimming them with clippers.

What method do you use to trim your own nails and why?

I try to clip them, but when I'm nervous, I bite them off.

I clip and file my nails, in that order. My nails are extremely strong and sharp, so if there are no smooth edges, they cut/snag.

I keep my nails clipped with a filed finish as short as they'll go. My nails are weak, so if I let them grow out at all they end up snagging on stuff and it's not fun.

I generally clip and then file mine, but if I break a nail and I'm too busy to fix it, I'll usually just bite it off.
