We have the Esse and Equus furniture pieces as well as a few of the shapes. We invested in the furniture pieces because we could incorporate them into our master bedroom. For years I'd wanted a chaise lounge to relax and read on near the windows and we both wanted a bench at the foot of the bed - the Esse and Equus filled in nicely.
Bonus on the Equus - it's low enough for my older dogs (large breed) to use to hop on and off the bed and I'm hoping I won't have to replace the Equus with the dog ramp when they're not longer so spry.

I didn't answer your other questions...
Both the Esse and Equus are fun and useful. Better leverage in both missionary and doggy positions (straddling the furniture when standing) and bearing weight on your legs and feet instead of just your knees makes it possible to maintain positions longer in greater comfort. Even the faux leather cover on our Equus has a decent grip when using microfiber-covered Liberator pieces on it.
We use our Liberator pieces all the time. The wedge is probably the most popular overall but we use our ramp almost as often as our wedge. The wing is my favorite because it holds toys leaving your hands free.
