I know some people who can't read in cursive, so in a lot of everyday writing I use print. In actuality, though, I prefer cursive. It's easier for me to use (feels smoother, easier on the hand) and seems faster, so I use it in a lot of personal writing or with people who I'm certain can read it. Mine is pretty good and usually very clear, probably since I used it almost exclusively after learning how in second grade - it seemed more "grown up."
Cursive

Cursive is great for creative writing.

Only for legal purposes. Otherwise, I print.

i don't use it

I write a lot and my normal handwriting is kind of a mix of cursive and print. I've never really gotten into writing fully in cursive.

I had to write a paragraph in cursive the last time I took the ACT. They've since taken it off those tests I've heard.

Many schools across the nation are no longer teaching cursive, as the keyboard (and the few times people print) have made it unnecessary to teach (at least in their eyes).

I actually can barely print. My print is all over and looks like a 5-year-olds. I write cursive quite nicely, though.

When I need to write fast, I use cursive.

I learned cursive, but never got real comfortable or elegant with it. Well done cursive just looks so nice that I hope it stays around.

I learned it in elementary school... And then forgot how to in the years since. I never use it

When I was young, my father explained to me that the reason why we had to write in cursive was that it was faster to write in cursive than it was to print. I had a contest with my father where I proved that I could print legibly faster than he could write cursive. Since that day, I didn't have to write in cursive.
However, I think that learning to write cursive was useful in developing a pleasing printing style--it also helped with learning muscle control. I currently work in a school system where cursive is no longer taught outside of the child's name. These kids have the WORST handwriting.
Granted, it can be argued that handwriting itself is outdated and unnecessary thanks to the computer. I disagree. It's sort of like math teachers teaching a dependence on a calculator: what exactly do you do if you don't have access to one? What do you do if you need to keep some information and you don't have a computer to type it into?

I learned it in grade school, but don't properly practice it. My handwriting is a mix of cursive and printing - and rarely is it the official, actual cursive. I do think it's beautiful, but people just don't write things by hand as much as they used to.

I only use it to write the dollars out on checks (cause you're sposed to). Otherwise I do like a connected print hybrid.
03/15/2012
I do not

I don't really have strong feelings one way or another. I can write it but it doesn't save me any time compared to print, and it isn't as useful as it was before computers. I still think it is a useful skill and don't think it should be phased out of schools though.

I do a cursvie/print mix.

I like cursive. I guess because it looks neat, and it has more "personality" than print. I use print if it's something that I know others will need to read, because cursive is hard for some people--and my cursive is really loopy and messy. When I'm journaling though, I like to write in cursive.
Back before everyone had a computer when I was in grade school, we were still handing in assignments that were hand written. I wrote entire essays in cursive! I was still doing it in some classes in high school even, so they would be several pages long. That seems unthinkable now. I can't imagine teachers wanting to wade through essay after essay of barely legible cursive written papers.

I don't like to write..and prefer typing or texting, simply because I don't like the way my handwriting, print or cursive.

I love writing, so when I get bored, I'll start playing around with it, though it is rare these days. I do enjoy the look of it.

I've only written in cursive since the 6th grade. It kind of frustrates me when people can't read my handwriting because it's cursive.

I almost always write in cursive unless it is to write something for my son since he is only 5 and can't read cursive yet.

It's not often I have to hand write anything but when I do I use a combination of cursive and manuscript
09/23/2012
I sort of write in between cursive and print when I write.
09/23/2012
Every now and then I like to do it
09/23/2012
sometime!

I sometimes use it, sometimes don't. At my kids' school they still teach it, but at others I hear they don't.
09/23/2012
I used it in school when they taught or made me..after that I pretty much never used it again unless I sign my name for my credit card.
