I've been wearing glasses since I'm like 5 so...I want contacts lol
Contacts or glasses?
10/22/2010
I love my contacts!

I wear glasses for reading, but I read all day so I pretty much wear them constantly. I always thought glasses looked good on people. Now that I have to wear them I'm less enamored. They're annoying to wear.

I have both and love both! If you are forgetful contacts can be a bad choice. You can really damage your eyes just from accidentally sleeping in them one night. Though it's not likely to happy, there is a chance it can happen just from one night. Plus contacts can get expensive, but they are great for those special occasions when you don't want to have glasses in the way and still want to be able to see clearly!
I'm legally blind without contacts or glasses, so I need to be wearing one or the other no matter what I do.

Thanks for all the input, guys! Regardless of what I choose, I need to do something quick. I have a huuuuge crack in my right lens. If I get jostled or trip, the lens will split, I just know it. Time to make an eye appointment...but still not sure if I want contacts or not. I'm always indecisive.

Why not get both? I usually wear glasses, but prefer contacts for sports, especially water sports and tennis. Disposable contacts are pretty affordable so that you can have some around for when you want them.

Wore glasses for half my life then I had laser surgery. It's wonderful not to worry bout glasses or contacts but I gotta admit it took a long time to adjust to not wearing glasses. I would find myself pushing up invisible glasses and I had a hard time adjusting to the fact that I couldn't just take off the glasses and rest my eyes. They always saw perfectly and I just didn't rest with them. Gotten over that by now.

Contacts scare the crap out of me. I'm a big baby. I don't think I could ever do it.
My eyes are too horrible yet so if I don't want to wear my glasses for a bit I don't.

I wore contacts for part of high school and some of college, but then I got lazy and went back to the glasses. Now I rock the Geek-chic look (yay Lauren! Thick frames RULE!). As for sunglasses, I got some cheapy Rx ones from GlobalEyeGlasses(dot)c om. Got two pairs and with shipping spent less than $40. Totally worth it in my book. When you've got the Rx sunshades, no one notices. I need a new pair of regular glasses though, because since I gained so much weight after having my son, my frames aren't quite wide enough for my face anymore

I rock the hot librarian frames.

I have glasses, but I don't need them but for driving and I don't really do that. I'm not a fan of wearing them, but I've yet to get past that "Ow, new glasses" headache stage to where I'm comfortable with them. My boy loves how I look in them, but it's not enough for me to want to wear them all the time aside from interviews or the occasional "sexy librarian" dress up.

So those of you that are visionally-impaired (yes, I made that up), which do you prefer? Feel free to elaborate! And if you've had Lasik or other vision-correcting surgery, feel free to talk about it! less

Don't want to really try contacts, I'm not comfortable with the idea of putting them in.

I don't really love wearing glasses. I just know that contacts won't work for me. If I want to see where I'm going, glasses are good!

That's a thought. My boyfriend pretty much does the same thing. I'd love to get both but right now it's a money concern. I'll probably end up getting a desperately needed new pair of specs, then try out contacts sometime later.

I have both glasses and contacts, but I wear my glasses more often. I hardly use my contacts. I'm a nerd and a geek, so they suit me well. Glasses are easier. I also really like my frames, they're called Nelly by Bebe. When I need a new pair of glasses I think I'll get these frames again. It's not that I don't like my contacts, I do. I like having the option of wearing glasses or not. It's that I keep hitting the snooze button again and again. When I finally get up I'm in a rush when I'm getting ready for work. Glasses are faster.

glasses can get annoying but contacts make my nose run and often my eyes feel irritated because they are already dry or strained by my computer all the time..I don't wear either because I don't want to pay for new glasses or an appointment I don't have insurance...when I find the ONE pair of glasses I love and looks great on me it ends up costing several hundred dollars and my paychecks are less than $600 every 2 weeks

I have had glasses since I was 2, then I got contacts when I was 10. I love wearing contacts, but they don't correct my vision as well as the glasses do. So when I drive a car or fly an airplane I wear glasses but at work and school I wear contacts. I've also found I can only wear contacts for about 8-10 hours or my eyes get really dried out and I have to take them out.

I love my glasses. I wear them all the time. I have no interest in getting contacts. They're just not for me.

I'll explain my answers.
I want contacts because I don't like wearing glasses all the time. But, sometimes I love my glasses. Other times, I hate them for being uncomfortable.
And you really don't suck, I just had to click it cuz it was there

I wore contacts for ~6 years, and loved them, but with the expense I'm back to glasses now that I'm back in school.
Someone might have beaten me to this, but depending on the strength of your glasses prescription and anything you may have going on (astigmatism, etc) you might well find that contact lenses don't give you as much of an improvement as glasses do.
Lasik doesn't always permanently solve vision problems, and you might still need glasses/contacts after.
A lot of optometrists offer free trials of contact lenses, so you could look into trying them and see if you prefer them to glasses.

My glasses are fine until they get smudge marks or hair marks on them. Then I just get mad at them and yell at them about how I am getting contacts. I think my boyfriend hears about this every day. I'd like to have contacts, but I'd prefer wearing glasses to work, since they have blocked bits of wood splinters and stuff from getting into my eyes.

My wife wears glasses when she drives at night and when having to watch a movie at a theater or other things at a distance. She has never tried contacts and probably never will.
12/25/2010
I wear both on and off for long periods depending on whether or not I have enough money to purchase contacts. I'm in LOOOVE with those Oasis contacts. You can wear them for a whole fucking month at a time. Pure bliss I tell you
12/27/2010
I wear glasses and am indifferent.
12/27/2010
I wear both since my eyes dry out wearing contacts very quickly.
12/28/2010
I love my glasses. I tried contacts but I have pretty bad allergies so it didn't go well. Plus, I look kinda goofy without my glasses.

i love my glasses never considered contacts until recently. always looked at my glasses as an accessory but there are plenty of times it would be great to see clearly without quite literally litmitation, blind spots while driving or just watching tv in bed.

I just got my eyes checked last year (should have gone earlier) and now I have glasses, which I love! I have funky frames with some almost neon colors on the sides and the earpieces. I have an eclectic fashion sense, so it's nice to have a bit of color I can wear every day
