Depends on the price/sale and taste difference. I buy some generics and some brand.

I actually studied cereals: brand names versus generics (the things you research in school). Anyways, we studied nutritional value, percent fillers, and amount of the advertised/highlighted characteristic. For example, when studying Lucky Charms, we counted marshmallows.
Most of the time, the generic was more successful in delivering the desired quality, but they can occasionally fall short in terms of being fortified.

Most generic ones I can taste the different of, but I try them once to see if I don't. Generic shredded wheat and cinnamon Life taste the exact same, so I've been getting those a lot lately. The more unique flavors of cereal I find the generics are usually yucky of...you know, things like Lucky Charms, Cap'n Crunch, etc.

Generic cereal all the way, especially at stores that let you scoop your own in a bag. Perfect sizing, and good savings.

I always buy name brand

Brand. I haven't found a generic version of Kashi cereals yet. =]

Depends on the price, and which generic store brand I'm buying from. Target has really nice generic cereals so sometimes I buy those.

It all depends on price and sales, I tend to buy a lot in bulk from a warehouse store and then it's cheaper to buy brand name there vs generic at the grocery store, but if I'm at the regular grocery store then I tend to buy generic.

I buy whichever is the best price at the time.

Some generics taste the same as name brand, some don't.
09/10/2012
It depends on if a generic brand is available, not all cereals have that option.

depends on the cereal. When I feel like eating frosted flakes I dont buy the brand name I buy the one in the bag its way cheaper.

There are a lot of products that I don't mind buying the generic label, and sometimes even prefer it. Cereal, on the other hand, has to be name brand.

Generic if it's good, brand name otherwise
09/10/2012
I don't care about the brands.

I tend to go for brand-name, but I mainly eat Kashi cereals, and there aren't any knock-offs. As for other cereals, I pretty much only eat Rice Krispies, Corn Flakes, Cheerios, or Shredded Wheat. Honestly.. I've never even thought to look for generics. I just know the look of the box and whenever I see it, that's what I grab. I don't really pay attention to anything else.
